The Head of Operational Excellence is a critical role to facilitate informed and quick decision making of the CIO by maintaining oversights of ongoing initiatives (including transformations), escalations, customer feedback (CSAT) and budget. He/she also maximizes the value of strategic partnerships by setting joint goals, applying standard performance metrics and tracking benefits. Depending on specific functions assigned to the OCIO (that currently includes the BITS Operating Model Management, Vendor & License Management, TBM and BITS financial management, SW asset and licenses management, and Programme Management), the Head of Operational Excellence and Transformation PMO ensures respective operations.
This mission critical role is placed within the BITS (Business Information and Technology Services) team, reporting to the CIO.
Your main responsibilities will be:
Support the global IT integration and transformation program based on the details of the organization and the group(s) being impacted by the change (governance / PMO focus)
Lead governance and execution of transformation plans by collaborating with the Head of IT Strategy, BP and IT Transformations and other senior business leaders, senior IT leaders, dedicated transformation managers, responsible IT Business Partners and delivery teams across multiple regions
Support the design and ensure that the BITS Operating Model is maintained up to date and that all its components (Service Catalogue, Processes, Governance Model, Organisational Structure) are in line with BITS strategy.
Oversee and approve changes in the BITS Operating Model
Track BITS budget and ensure that the spend matches BITS needs and goals
Prepare budget extensions if needed
Forecast costs and prepare the annual budget request
Ensure that the SW asset & licenses inventory is up to date and coordinate all related initiatives
Coordinate with Global Procurement team the best acquisition strategy for SW asset & licenses
Define in collaboration with Procurement, and maintain up to date, the Vendor Management policy for BITS relations with IT vendors
Oversee Vendor Management activities within the different BITS subfunctions
Ensure that BITS Communication Plan is up to date and properly implemented
Ensure that all ongoing initiatives are properly followed-up by the Programme Management Officer and the Project Managers, helping in the decision making process
In collaboration with the CISO, design and coordinate the implementation of controls related to measure and report BITS performance and efficiency (GITC). Ensure monitoring.
Coordinate any main escalations and keep CIO updated on resolution progress
Identify CIO function improvement initiatives to ensure that the CIO function is as efficient as possible
Define a strategy and capability for IT talent management
Your skills and qualifications include:
Previous experience in a governance role
Strong organizational, and planning skills with the ability to set priorities
Knowledge in Operating Models management
Experience in Vendor Management activities
Experience in budget planning and management and other governance activities
Understanding of total cost ownership of IT assets and functions
Ability in extracting/translating findings into alternatives/solutions, identifying risks/impacts and schedule adjustments to facilitate decision-making
Excellent collaboration and communication skills
Be a business-focused, creative, innovative, pragmatic, and positive team player
Good written, spoken and interpersonal communication skills
Business level English is a must
Structured, result-oriented; who demonstrates a will to drive things forward, and make sure decisions are made and followed through
Self-driven and independent, yet with a will to ask and understand
Ambitious and thrives in a high-paced, international and changing work environment
