The “INSTITUTO DE INVESTIGACIÓN HOSPITAL 12 DE OCTUBRE (IMAS12)” is

looking to hire researchers for their new groups/labs at the Cancer Research Area:

- Genomics & Therapeutics in Prostate Cancer (PI: David Olmos)

- Translational Cancer Genetics (PI: Elena Castro)

GENERAL DESCRIPTION

• Postdoctoral positions

As a postdoctoral researcher in these groups, you will oversee and lead the translational

science projects focused on understanding cancer biology and its clinical outcomes. Our

teams will lead collaborative experimental research and initiation of original research in

translational oncology, preclinical testing, and collaborative clinical science. These are

positions of considerable responsibility but with significative potential of professional

growth and development.

For 1 of these 2 postdoctoral positions, we may also consider for this position senior

postdoc looking for opportunities to become staff investigators with the possibility to

develop their independent research line within the group.

As an Investigator or Postdoctoral researcher, you will write grants, reports, abstracts

and manuscripts for meetings and peer-reviewed journals. Furthermore, you will

collaborate with the PI and/or senior investigators at these teams in the supervision of

PhD and MSc students. Apart from the members of the lab, you will interact with

researchers from other centers, including physicians, Computational Scientist, clinical

fellows from Spain and abroad.

• Predoctoral positions

As a predoctoral student we are looking for highly motivated graduate students with

interest to undertake cancer research projects combining molecular biology,

genetics/genomics, drug development and/or computational analysis. Ideal candidates

should hold a Bachelor in Biology, Medicine, Veterinary, Pharmacy or other biomedical

Sciences, as well as a Master degree in a discipline related to experimental research.

Under the supervision of the PI, investigators and postdocs the PhD students, you will

develop technical, analytical and communication skills to design experiments, projects

and present data through 3 years funded project. You would also interact with other

team member and have opportunities to collaborate in projects beyond your PhD

project to increase your competencies and you CV publication track.
