A role based in a Medical Department, reporting to the Therapeutic Area Lead and core member of
the Integrated Squad. The Medical Expert is responsible to foster clinical practice in order to achieve
maximum benefit for the patient, identifying relevant medical needs and supporting the optimal use
of Roche products under his/her responsibility. The ME develops the medical strategy of the assigned
products or therapeutic areas, contributing to the integrated strategic plan (iSP) co-created together
with the Brand Squad.
Major responsibilities include:
- 1. Lead the scientific part of the therapeutic area strategy, aligned with the Squad members
- It is the scientific reference of pathology for international colleagues, ensuring local medical strategy alignment with global strategy
- Knows and anticipates the needs of his area in relation to Personalized and Precision Medicine and promotes development in this area.
- Responsible for the strategy and plan of local publications. Designs the affiliates science communication strategy, including digital.
- Maintains bi-directional communication with the roles in the field.
- Identify and collect local evidence gaps
- Participate in the global Integrated Evidence Plan
- Interlocutor with scientific societies
- Ensures the alignment of the received proposals with the area/product strategy
- Coordinates the collection of scientific insights from different stakeholders, including patients
- Collaborates in the training / updating of field and other positions to ensure a scientific approach
- Scientific reference for the implementation of activities throughout the life of the product Participates in national and international scientific meetings of reference.
- Maintains valuable relationships with the most relevant TAEs in its area.
- Collaborate with other internal units to ensure comprehensive coverage of the therapeutic area
- Evaluates and establishes scientific collaborations with National Medical Societies and National Patient Associations
- University Degree in a medical/science-related field. A Medical Degree and specialization will be valued
- Valuable previous experience in Medical Affairs.
- High English level is essential
- Knowledge of the design, implementation and oversight of clinical trials
- Understanding of clinical practice. Experience in specific diseases, ideally in the area of responsibility
- Experience in communication with Therapeutic Area Experts and external organizations
- Demonstrated ability to work in a team and cross-functional in physical and virtual environments.
- Ability to prioritize and organize internal and external resources
- Negotiation skills and the ability to influence to reach agreements and valuable relationships
- Able to learn quickly and stay updated to grow and be able to face new challenges
