Wood is currently recruiting for an Intern for Procurement department in our Madrid office

Wood is looking for students interested in accessing the professional world through external academic internships and offers the possibility to put into practice and expand the knowledge acquired during their academic career

Students will get the opportunity to enter in the upstream, midstream and downstream oil and gas industry as we look to develop your background in conceptual engineering studies, pre-FEED, FEED, EPC and PMC projects

The role is offered to fit in with study timetables and course obligations

The selected candidate(s) will cooperate assisting and directly performing – under the mentorship of senior colleagues – specific tasks as follows :

Pre - order purchasing activities for major global Oil & Gas EPC projects:

• Issuing Request for Quotation for the supply of material of a Project and of obtaining competitive quotations in a timely manner
• Evaluating all factors involved, and negotiate lowest price and requested delivery
• Providing input for Purchasing Reports and follow up actions relating to items for which the Buyer is responsible
• Preparing and initiating Bid Tabulations and Purchase Orders for all items to be purchased
• Checking Purchase order invoices according with the Purchase order milestones
• Follow Purchase orders until delivery of the material/equipment, aligned with project schedule
• Accomplishing all duties delegated by the Manager, Purchasing or Project Procurement Manager
• Complying with the code of business conduct and ethics, corporate policies, procedures and work practice
• Ensuring the correct finalization of orders in accordance with project procurement execution plan
  

Skills / Qualifications

• Last academic year of degree or master's degree in Business Administration, Engineering, or similar Degree
• Ready to work in an international environment and to learn international procurement practices
• Academic situation that allows signing an agreement with a university or training centre
• Availability in the morning (daily dedication depending on the academic situation)
• Spanish language at native level
• Excellent command of English
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint
• Able to manage own time and ability to prioritize at busy times
• Creative and practical
• Adaptable and persevering
• Interested in pursuing a career in Engineering within the Oil and Gas Industry
• Ability to work in multi-disciplinary team environments
• Good communication skills
• Available immediately
