Project Manager – Game Localization

ROLE PURPOSE
The Project Manager is responsible for the delivery of a portfolio of game localization projects for several accounts. This Team has specific duties, and at the same time is part of the core organizational structure.
The prime purpose of this role is to provide professional PM capability so that the localization projects are planned, resourced and driven to a successful conclusion. The PM is the main point of contact for any questions on the status of the project and provides the expertise to plan what is needed to achieve the objectives and to manage the delivery.
SCOPE OF ROLE
- Reports to: Production Lead
- Staff reporting to this post: External translators’ team
The PM operates in concert with the localization team to tackle all day-to-day localization needs. Will be tasked with a variety of localization projects, text, voice over and multimedia, including the localization of in-game assets for online computer game, as well as various content for other websites, promotions, etc. directed at the player community.
- Establish and manage comprehensive project plans, taking into consideration deadlines, dependencies, available resources, and overall costs to ensure smooth and timely execution.
- Drive the project to a regular beat: monitor activity, manage adherence to plan and resolving obstacles to delivery, while supporting colleagues and collaborators.
- Put the project controls in place: planning, resources, risks management, finances, interdependencies, scope…
- Provide regular status reports that support effective decision making with the project.
- Set up and maintain the repository of documentation and reference materials.
- Implement best practices and procedures in project management within the project and contribute to the continuous improvement of the project management toolkit.
- Coordinate and schedule LQA tasks within the internal team, ensuring timelines and priorities are clearly communicated.

Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Translation, Linguistics or Communication fields (other backgrounds will also be considered).
Essential
EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
- A track record of successfully managing translation projects in the localization industry
- Spanish native speaker
- Above average Spanish skills
- Comprehensive English skills
- Knowledge of localization project practices and standards
- Excellent proficiency of Microsoft Office applications
- Working experience with CAT tools, specially memoQ
- Experience of reporting on projects
- Analytical and problem-solving skills, and capacity to work collaboratively to deliver effective solutions to project related issues
- Organisational awareness and ability to understand sensitivities within a complex multi-stakeholder structure; and think creatively and strategically to overcome obstacles to cooperation and progress.
- Process/workflow analysis skills
- Cultural awareness and experience of delivering projects
- Background in linguistics or language studies
- Passionate about videogames
- Videogames industry experience
- Basic proficiency of Brazilian Portuguese
- Project Management training
