NoOffer DescriptionGrant/funding reference: Berce/2024-2028/LuisVarelaResearch line/Scientific-technical services: Role of hypothalamic astrocytes in the regulation of food intake.Working hours: Monday to Friday, from 9:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and from 3:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. (35 hours per week).This contract is funded through the "BERCE PROGRAM FOR BENEFICIARIES OF RAMÓN Y CAJAL GRANTS."The main tasks include:Joining the FeMC group ("Feeding Circuits and Cancer Mechanisms") at CICA, under the supervision of Principal Investigator Dr. Luis Varela Fernández.Conducting experiments related to the research project and supporting laboratory organization and management.Specific responsibilities:Maintenance and handling of primary cultures and cell lines, preparation of culture media, and storage of cell stocks in liquid nitrogen.Performing cell growth, viability, migration, and invasion assays using various inhibitors and drugs.Using cloning, mutagenesis, transfection/infection, bacterial transformation techniques, and gene silencing methods (siRNA, shRNA, CRISPR) or overexpression.Additional duties include assisting with orders, stock maintenance, reagent and material management, and database creation and maintenance.Note: The contract duration is expected from 01/09/2025 to 30/04/2026 due to grant funding limitations.Qualifications: Degree, licentiate, or equivalent in Life Sciences/Biomedicine.Additional InformationEligibility criteria include academic qualifications, experience with molecular/cell biology techniques, cell culture experience, research grants or awards, research stays or contracts over 6 months, English language proficiency, and personal interview performance.Applicants must submit a CV structured according to the specified criteria, including detailed task descriptions and durations, with all supporting documents in a single PDF.Application process: Submit applications via the UDC online service, including required documents, with a deadline five working days after the call publication.Support documentation required includes a copy of ID or passport, degree certificate (apostilled or legalized), CV, and a declaration of meeting the call requirements.For international candidates, contact ****** for application instructions.
