The Marie Sklodowska-Curie Actions promote interdisciplinary research and international collaborations, supporting scientists from not only within Europe but also across the globe.In the Marie Sklodowska-Curie Actions, an experienced researcher (fellow) with a minimum of PhD level experience moves to an institution in another country (host), where he or she works with a supervisor to deliver a specific project involving research, innovation, training and networking activities.
Both parties must collaborate on the application and the supervisor should offer appropriate supervision and support.
Regular meetings between the supervisor and the researcher should be the backbone for the planning and implementation of the research and innovation plan.Proposals should be built around a concrete plan of training-through-research at the host organisation (Career Development Plan).

The problem is even worse for women with dense breasts, who make up 50% of the screening population and for whom mammography is less reliable.
At The Blue Box, we've developed a urine-based breast cancer test with a sensitivity of 88.42%, outperforming mammography by 15% overall—and by 30% in women with dense breasts.
We're launching clinical trials in 2025 and bringing our test to gynecology clinics by 2026.We are looking for an Electronic Engineer to join our dynamic team and spearhead the technical aspects of our breast cancer diagnostic device development.
The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical background and a passion for driving innovation in healthcare.We are currently seeking an Electronic Engineer to lead the development of our core sensing unit (e-nose) and embedded systems.
This is an opportunity to make a tangible impact on women's health and, if desired, pursue an Industrial PhD with us in collaboration with a local university.Job DescriptionLead troubleshooting efforts and provide technical expertise to resolve complex issues encountered during the development and use of our sensing unit (e-nose).Firmware Ownership: understand, maintain, and evolve the existing embedded firmware in collaboration with external partners.
Implement new features and resolve bugs across hardware-software interfaces.Collaborate with our Data Scientist on signal processing of sample readings from our device.Drive innovation and optimization of our device technology, leveraging the latest advancements in sensorics, engineering, and material science.Together with the Management team, define the technical strategy and roadmap for product development, ensuring alignment with company goals and objectives.Collaborate with our Clinical Lead in designing lab experiments to define technical specifications of the sensing unit.Collaborate with our Product Lead to transfer know-how to and from manufacturing partners to improve our device manufacturing.Ensure that all technical aspects of our device developRequired Technical SkillsElectronics & Embedded Systems Development: Design and develop custom electronics and embedded firmware/software for a medical device, utilizing tools like Visual Studio Code, GCC, STM32CubeMX, Doxygen, Ozone, etc.PCB Design & Prototyping: Create, prototype, and debug electronic PCBs and subsystems using CAE/CAD tools such as Altium or KiCad.Product Development Lifecycle: Oversee all stages of development—from initial research and prototyping to production, testing, and validation.Project Management: Define project scope, timelines, and deliverables while collaborating with manufacturers, regulatory teams, and other stakeholders to drive successful execution.Passion for electronics, IoT, and embedded systems.Proactive, hands-on mindset with strong problem-solving abilities.Clear communicator, team player, and motivated by working in a mission-driven start-up.Required experienceAdvanced degree in Electronics Engineering or similar.Proven experience developing embedded systems, particularly with sensor-basedtechnologies such as e-noses or other gas-sensing applications.Experience defining technical strategy and roadmap for product development.
