A position as Electromagnetic Modeling and Simulation Engineer has arisen within Airbus Defence and Space in Getafe (Madrid). The successful applicant will join EME, Antenna Systems and Low Observability SP department.
Tasks
As an EM M&S Engineer, you will develop the following challenging tasks and activities:
- Computation and analysis of installed antenna performances (radiation patterns and coverages).
- Interoperability studies between RF systems co-installed on aircraft.
- Computation and analysis of different concepts of EM hazard protection against HIRF, Lightning, EMI/EMC phenomena, ESD, Tempest, NEMP, etc.
As a successful candidate, you will be able to demonstrate the following skills and experience:
- Degree in Telecommunication Engineering, Electrical Engineering or Physics.

Tasks
As a member of the Aircraft Development Safety team, you will develop the following challenging tasks and activities:
- Performing System Safety Assessment activities for military aircraft systems, supporting the development phases until certification.
- Performing a systematic and comprehensive examination of System functions to identify and classify failure conditions of those functions according to their severity.
- Establishing the System Safety requirements and performing preliminary evaluations to determine that the proposed architecture can reasonably be expected to meet the safety objectives.
- Generating evidences to demonstrate in front of the Airworthiness Authorities that the final system architecture meets required System Safety requirements.
- Performing analyses of Common-Cause (Particular Risk Analysis, Zonal Safety Analysis and Common Mode Analysis).
- Performing Risk Analyses, according to the applicable guidance and standards, which are required to demonstrate the Continuous Airworthiness of the platform.
- Manage and establish safety requirements at the interface to interacting systems.
- Manage input from and output to interfacing technical domains and technology (processes, maintenance, human factos, aircraft performance, structures, quality, etc.).
- Review, approval and application of supplier data regarding Safety and Reliability.
Required Skills
As a successful candidate, you will be able to demontrate the following skills and experience:
- Master degree of Aeronautical or Industrial Engineer (or similar discipline).
- Good Knowledge/understanding of Aircraft systems.
- System Safety Assessment experience would be an advantage, at least System Engineering experience with interface to Safety Assessment/Airworthiness/Certification.
- Advanced skills with MS Office are presumed.
- Experience with Safety Tools, e.g. Isograph FaultTree+ will be valuable.
- Good level of English Language.

Within Embedded Software and System Engineering department, the candidate will be involved in software specification, software development & verification for high integrity airborne Real-Time systems. Candidate should be able to lead and to take responsibility on design/architectural decisions as well as leading a specific project development. Projects will consist on embedded software and system developments for A400M, Tankers, C-295, UAVs, H160M & Tiger MkIII helicopters.
Activities:
- Work at all levels of embedded software development according to specific SW standards (Sw Requirements, Sw Design, Sw Coding, Sw Verification, Sw Configuration, Sw Documentation release, Sw Change Management and Support software QA)
- Derivate Sw requirements from functional requirements and interface definition.
- Participate on requirements technical reviews.
- Partner with Product/Program Managers, System Engineers and Validation to drive software products.
- Participate in the planning and scope for the team projects.
- Support Product Owners and PMs to deliver high quality software on time.
- Commit and deliver high quality software deliverables on time, cost and quality.
- Promote innovation across the department.
- Conceives team structure and constantly seeks opportunities to adjust team structure to maximize agility and efficiency.
We’re looking for candidates with the following skills:
- Educated in a Telecommunication, Computer Science, Industrial Engineering degree or a related discipline.
- Expertise on Javascript, AngularJS, NW.JS, OpenLayers, HTML, CSS.
- Experience on software verification activities.
- Experience on Requirement Management & Requirements Management tools (DOORS).
- Experience on Continuous Development & Continuous Integration activities.
- Experience on Agile Methodologies.
- A plus is experience with Model Based System Engineering.
- A plus is experience on Real-Time Software development aspects.
- A plus is experience on Sw Certification: DO-178B/C
- High level of English and Spanish
