A position as Electromagnetic Modeling and Simulation Engineer has arisen within Airbus Defence and Space in Getafe (Madrid). The successful applicant will join EME, Antenna Systems and Low Observability SP department.
Tasks
As an EM M&S Engineer, you will develop the following challenging tasks and activities:
- Computation and analysis of installed antenna performances (radiation patterns and coverages).
- Interoperability studies between RF systems co-installed on aircraft.
- Computation and analysis of different concepts of EM hazard protection against HIRF, Lightning, EMI/EMC phenomena, ESD, Tempest, NEMP, etc.
As a successful candidate, you will be able to demonstrate the following skills and experience:
- Degree in Telecommunication Engineering, Electrical Engineering or Physics.

Structural Design's primary mission is to design, develop, qualify and certify aerospace structures and provide consistently high quality data for the final life cycle.
Scope of work covers from requirements management, design, qualification and certification test support, production assurance through manufacturing support to service and ongoing airworthiness support. Development of new technologies and methodologies for innovative and competitive aerospace solutions is also in the scope.
Required competencies for the position:
- -Knowledge of design technologies required for the development of complete civil aviation structures, which includes a wide range of assemblies, sub-assemblies and parts, utilizing all available technologies from metallic to composite and from parts to assemblies.

To support the Aircraft Development Safety team in Getafe, we are looking for a System Safety Engineer who will ensure that Airbus products are designed, developed and supported according to the relevant safety standards (associated to airworthiness regulations).
Tasks
As a member of the Aircraft Development Safety team, you will develop the following challenging tasks and activities:
- Performing System Safety Assessment activities for military aircraft systems, supporting the development phases until certification.
- Performing a systematic and comprehensive examination of System functions to identify and classify failure conditions of those functions according to their severity.
- Establishing the System Safety requirements and performing preliminary evaluations to determine that the proposed architecture can reasonably be expected to meet the safety objectives.
- Generating evidences to demonstrate in front of the Airworthiness Authorities that the final system architecture meets required System Safety requirements.
- Performing analyses of Common-Cause (Particular Risk Analysis, Zonal Safety Analysis and Common Mode Analysis).
- Performing Risk Analyses, according to the applicable guidance and standards, which are required to demonstrate the Continuous Airworthiness of the platform.
- Manage and establish safety requirements at the interface to interacting systems.
- Manage input from and output to interfacing technical domains and technology (processes, maintenance, human factos, aircraft performance, structures, quality, etc.).
- Review, approval and application of supplier data regarding Safety and Reliability.
Required Skills
As a successful candidate, you will be able to demontrate the following skills and experience:
- Master degree of Aeronautical or Industrial Engineer (or similar discipline).
- Good Knowledge/understanding of Aircraft systems.
- System Safety Assessment experience would be an advantage, at least System Engineering experience with interface to Safety Assessment/Airworthiness/Certification.
- Advanced skills with MS Office are presumed.
- Experience with Safety Tools, e.g. Isograph FaultTree+ will be valuable.
- Good level of English Language.
- Team working skills and problem-solving mind.

Required competences and skills:
- Strong background in Electromagnetism theory.

Your main tasks and responsibilities will include:
Systems definition for Avionics Domain and development of Centralized and Recording Systems, including:

Job Description:
Airbus Crisa (TSAI) is the organization within Airbus DS - Space Systems in charge of design, development and production of Avionics Equipment for Space applications, both to Airbus DS internal customer and for external customers.
Within Operations and Programs section, Test Operations is the department in charge of flight HW verification either at assembly level or at unit level.
As a member of the Test Operations department and in the role of Facilities Management Team Leader, manages, leads, develops and engage the team to meet time, quality, cost and safety requirements. His/her main activities will be the following in line with Airbus leadership model:
- To manage the different testing teams in the testing facilities, i.e., vibration testing, thermal testing, electromagnetic test, instrumentation.
- Organize daily work with the team anticipating problems and driven improvement solutions ensuring effective communication within the team and key interfaces. Ensuring delivery safely at required date, required quality level and right cost (e.g. manage factors affecting costs: training, tooling, consumables budgets, and outstanding works)
- Ensure operational control by effectively managing workload and resources, developing cross-functional teamworking and applying practical problem solving tools.
- Maintain the operational excellence and ensure the customer (projects) satisfaction by contributing to Operations delivering electronic modules and units on time, on cost, on quality.
- To plan and follow the testing activities according the projects production overall plan with the required quality.
- Regular exchange with the Test Planification Manager and different test team leaders to get update of project schedule.
- Testing facilities cost budgeting and control.
- Materials and means for testing readiness assessment.
- To evaluate the production issues and problems to solve any potential pain point and trace it as lesson learnt.
- To perform the regular performance interviews, i.e., annual TCO, team reviews, compensation.
- To detect and achieve the correct skilling for the team requesting regular trainings.
- To estimate the department budget for further needs.
- To elaborate external testing proposal for third entities.
- To anticipate the likely blocking/pain points to avoid extra costs or extra delays in production.
- To support the internal improvement process within the section.
- Lead improvement process inside operating area, aligned with objectives, giving Lean and Quality tools to achieve solutions and fostering improvement proposals and ensuring budget in line with business cases to implement them.
