The Pediatric Hematologic Malignancies Research Program, a joint initiative between the Josep Carreras Leukaemia Research Institute (IJC) and the Sant Joan de Déu Research Institute (SJD), is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Cytomics Specialist to lead and manage the newly established Cytometry Unit. This is a key role within a dynamic and collaborative research environment focused on advancing pediatric leukemia research.

Main Responsabilities

• Lead the daily operations of the Cytometry Unit, ensuring optimal performance and maintenance of flow cytometry analysers and cell sorter equipment.
• Provide expert guidance and technical support to researchers in experimental design, panel development, and data analysis.
• Evaluate and introduce new technologies and protocols to enhance the unit’s capabilities.
• Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) and ensure compliance with quality and safety standards.
• Train and mentor users in cytometry techniques, instrument operation, and data interpretation. Organize seminars, courses, and training programs for internal and external users, serving as a key representative and ambassador of the cytometry unit.
• Collaborate with research teams to support cutting-edge projects in rare cell detection and functional assays.
• Manage scheduling, budgeting, and procurement for the Cytometry Unit, ensuring its sustainability.
• Contribute to laboratory management tasks to ensure a well-organised and efficient research environment.
