Overview
The Team Leader – Marine Superintendent reports to the Executive Manager- Ferries, Airports and Ports Infrastructure and is a member of the service management team.
The Team Leader - Marine Superintendent provides information and advice to the Executive Manager to support service and directorate decision taking and the provision of support to Elected Members in determining the Council's overall strategic objectives and priorities in relation to Ferry Operations.
Responsibilities
Manage the Ferries Marine Superintendent operations team, providing a customer focussed efficient and effective delivery of services in accordance with the Council's values, objectives, targets and statutory obligations.
This includes responsibility for the following functions: vessel crewing, vessel operations.
Provide professional advice to the Executive Manager, Director and Elected Members with respect to the development, planning and delivery of services to ensure the Council fulfils all statutory requirements and implements relevant policies in respect of these services.

Salary shown in the advert is inclusive of Distant Islands Allowance of £2,859 per annum (pro rata)
Permanent Full Time post for 48.72 Hours per Week, 52.18 weeks per year
A relocation package does not apply to this post

You must have the ability to travel throughout Shetland at short notice and where public transport is limited
