About The Role

We’re looking for a high-energy, vibe coding data scientist ready to roll up their sleeves and dive into groundbreaking research and development for a potential startup. This isn’t your everyday desk job—we need someone who’s as comfortable mixing deep learning with large language models (LLMs) as they are reimagining state-of-the-art architectures. Imagine updating a Tab Transformer with some mamba-based thinking to create next-level predictive models for sports data and agent applications (think smart, agile, and out-of-the-box, but without the cricket baggage).

What You’ll Do

• Rapid Prototyping: Develop fast, proof-of-concept models that blend conventional deep learning with innovative LLM techniques.
• Model Innovation: Tinker with and enhance architectures (yes, that includes retooling Tab Transformer concepts) to push the boundaries of what’s possible.
• Data Experimentation: Explore and exploit sports data and agent-related datasets to uncover insights and build predictive models—always thinking a few steps ahead.
• Collaborative Development: Work directly with the founder (Shamus Rae) and a passionate investment partner (Julia Groves) in an entrepreneurial environment where creativity meets cutting-edge tech.
• Out-of-the-Box Thinking: Challenge conventional methods and propose new ideas—if you can imagine a smarter, faster, and more intuitive model, we want to hear about it.
• Hybrid Work Model: This is a hybrid role, with most work done remotely from home and occasional one-to-one meetings with the team to discuss progress and share learnings.

• Hands-On Coder: Enjoy writing quick, clean, and effective code—prototyping and iterating rapidly.
• Curious & Open-Minded: Whether you’re coming straight out of university or pursuing post-graduate work, you’re eager to play, experiment, and have fun for a 6-month engagement.
