About the role

We are looking for an RD&A Senior Technologist specialising in meat and coatings based in our Co-Creation centre in Barcelona. This person will be focused on the French meat market and so a fluent level of French is required for this role.

Key responsibilities

• Manage development and application activities related to key projects in the Mainland Europe Savoury D&A Team, focus on French meat market
• Ensure that ingredient functionality into final products fits the purpose of the customer.
• Participate in internal trainings to bring new developments as unique selling points for the customers.
• Support the roll out of strategic new technologies, alongside Sales and Marketing teams.
• Maintain awareness of developments across Kerry and building these into new developments providing unique selling points for customers.
• Build innovation concepts and present to customers.
• Undergo laboratory applications in order to support the team in their development, or to prepare concepts for customer presentations
• Partner with team members to build on innovation and to share knowledge.
• Partner with account manager on customer strategy and projects execution
• Develop customer intimacy with key meat processors, faster relationships with peers at key accounts
• Take the lead in French meat projects with key customers.
• Interact with customers face to face, specifically with the RD roles.
• Interact with customers in trouble shooting sessions on application concerns.
• Remain fully flexible to meet business requirements. Willing to travel to visit French customers
  

Qualifications and skills

• Experience in NPD environment in Meat or ingredients technologies.
• BSc / Masters in Food Science or equivalent.
• Excellent knowledge of Meat ingredients, Meat Industry & Technologies.
• Experience with Coatings technologies
• Understanding of the French meat market.
• Laboratory, pilot plant and factory experience.
• Experience in customer interactions.
• Competent IT skills.
• Self-motivated and organised.
• Good communications skills.
• Ability to work under pressure to ensure deadlines are met.
• Proficient spoken and written English, French and ideally Spanish
