Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly analytical, structured, and strategically minded professional to take on the role of Strategic Portfolio Manager – Big Bets. This role is responsible for ensuring that weekly strategic forums—where the Group’s Big Bets are reviewed with the Senior Management Team—are action‑oriented, high‑quality, and outcome‑driven.
You will play a pivotal role in challenging assumptions, prioritizing initiatives, elevating the quality of strategic materials, and ensuring that progress, risks, and blockers are proactively surfaced and addressed. Working closely with the Strategy Director and initiative owners, you will help steer the successful execution of HBX Group’s strategic agenda.
Responsibilities:
- Define and prioritize the Big Bets agenda alongside the Strategy Director, based on evolving strategic needs and business priorities.
- Act as a strategic thinker and challenger for all materials and updates prepared by initiative owners, ensuring depth, clarity, and executive‑level relevance before escalation.
- Lead the preparation and facilitation of the weekly Big Bets forum with the Senior Management Team, ensuring discussions are impact‑focused, action‑driven, and aligned to key results.
- Implement and maintain robust tracking of all Big Bets, including progress, risks, blockers, and mitigation plans, ensuring clear visibility for senior management.
- Elevate the quality of strategic discussions and outputs by guiding initiative leads on content expectations, formats, and outcome‑focused storytelling.
- Drive a shift from reporting to impact by ensuring initiatives are measured by clear key results and corrective actions are identified and followed through.
- Synthesize and escalate critical insights and recommendations to the Strategy Director and SMT to support timely decision‑making.
- Lead continuous improvement efforts across strategic performance management, embedding best practices and fostering a culture of accountability and excellence.
Skillset and Experience Required
- Strong strategic thinking and problem‑solving capabilities.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex information and derive insights.
- Confident communicator with the ability to challenge constructively and influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Highly structured, organized, and detail‑oriented, with a strong sense of ownership.
- Ability to work cross‑functionally and collaboratively in a fast‑moving environment.
- Comfortable preparing executive‑level materials and facilitating senior‑level forums.
- Experience in strategy, transformation, PMO, or performance management is strongly preferred.
- Proficiency with dashboards, performance tracking tools, and data‑driven decision‑making.
