As a Product Development specialist, our goal for you is to be dedicated to leading the development and approval processes for labelling and packaging solutions, mostly for our main client, Inditex. A Product Development Specialist plays a pivotal role in ensuring the quality, design, and materials of labelling and packaging meet brand standards across various production sites, ultimately aiming for product excellence and customer satisfaction.

This is an entry level position, so we do not expect you to know all this by now, but to have the interest, drive and potential. Here are a few notes about the role;

Role and Responsibilities we want to help you achieve

• Support on the development of samples for new labelling and packaging, ensuring adherence to brand quality standards and compliance with specifications.

• Record and formally present new products, documenting the development process and technical specifications for approval by relevant stakeholders.

• Help and later take responsibility for approving and homologating presented products in different production countries, ensuring consistency and compliance.

• Maintain effective communication in English with international Product teams, providing progress updates, resolving technical inquiries, and coordinating actions as required.

• Support, and conduct quality and design control of samples replicated across different sites, identifying and addressing any deviations to uphold consistency and excellence.

• Keep dynamic and resolution-oriented communication with brands by managing expectations, addressing issues proactively, and collaborating on innovative solutions.

Experience and Education (desired, not required)

• Bachelor’s degree in industrial design, Product Design, or related field.

• Analytical and creative thinking with great attention to detail.

• Strong communication skills, including active listening and fluency in English.

• Ability to work effectively in diverse team environments and take ownership of tasks.

• Proactive and enthusiastic approach with a willingness to seek support when necessary.

• Familiar with relevant design software tools to facilitate the creation and modification of product designs and prototypes.

• Possesses strong skills in technical documentation, including the ability to accurately record and present product development processes, specifications, and approvals in a formal manner.

• Utilizes quality control methods and techniques to ensure the integrity and consistency of product samples across different production sites, conducting thorough inspections and addressing deviations promptly.

• Knowledge of materials commonly used in labelling and packaging production, including their properties, characteristics, and suitability for different applications, to make informed design decisions and recommendations.

• Interest for regulatory requirements and standards related to labelling and packaging (e.g., FDA regulations, ISO standards), ensuring product designs comply with applicable regulations and industry best practice.

• Interest for printing technologies and processes commonly used in labelling and packaging production (e.g., offset printing, digital printing), enabling effective collaboration with printing vendors and suppliers to achieve desired outcomes.

• Potential knowledge of product testing methods and procedures (e.g., durability testing, colourfastness testing) to assess product performance and durability, ensuring products meet quality and safety standards.
