Job Description
This role is responsible for implementing and executing logistics plans, processes, and policies related to the storage and movement of materials and finished goods. It involves ensuring alignment with logistics optimization goals, managing inventory control, and supporting logistics operations through continuous process improvement. The position also contributes to the development and administration of logistics programs, collaborates with cross-functional teams, and plays an active role in driving transformation and enhancing efficiency across logistics practices..
Key Responsibilities
- Champion customer-centric freight execution by ensuring high service levels from both freight forwarders and factories to the markets.
- Monitor and analyze service failures and performance gaps, and collaborate with stakeholders to develop and implement improvement initiatives.
- Actively track shipments in transit and proactively address disruptions, including network failures, geopolitical events, and other transport-related issues.
- Drive continuous improvement in customer satisfaction through enhanced visibility, responsiveness, and alignment of freight operations.

- Proven experience in freight execution, ideally with a background in working for or closely with freight forwarders.
- Solid understanding of freight booking processes, international shipping networks, and common causes of transport disruptions.
- Ability to interpret logistics KPIs and performance data, identifying trends, root causes, and opportunities for improvement.
- Experience in monitoring freight execution and delivery performance against global logistics standards and service level agreements (SLAs).
- Skilled in proactive issue resolution, including managing exceptions, delays, and geopolitical or network-related disruptions.

What you’ll do
The 2026 AZ Baselga Cancer Research Scholars cohort will join AstraZeneca at a time of tremendous growth and acceleration in the oncology biologics portfolio. Working in a
Fast-paced And Dynamic Work Environment You Will Experience Increasing Levels Of Responsibility, Following a Structured Learning Plan In The Following Domains
- Clinical Study Assignment: You will join a clinical study team and build experience as a medical leader in clinical development which could be in Early Clinical Development, Late Clinical Development, or one year in each. You will participate in weekly clinical and scientific meetings related to your clinical study, complete AstraZeneca training programs and participate in internal and external scientific meetings. You will work in a cross functional environment, . contributing to and supporting Department/Clinical initiatives to improve the quality and content of all clinical programs as well as the cross functional/organization processes designed to effectively deliver our R&D portfolio.
- Serving as medical monitor with primary responsibility for patient safety and conduct of assigned trials as well as overall data interpretation and safety surveillance
- Establishing and approving scientific methods for design and implementation of applicable clinical protocols, data collection systems, and final reports
- Assisting in design of clinical development plans and overall strategy for compounds, therapeutic classes of compounds or indications in light of developments in the area of clinical and pharmaceutical oncology
- Collaborating with pre-clinical and translational sciences, and senior management in assessing requirements for emerging products
- Participating in the selection and management activities of CROs
- Supervising project team members in planning, conducting and evaluating clinical trials
- Planning and managing investigator meetings, advisory boards and other scientific committees
- Rotational program: During the course of your program, you will be involved in 3-6 month long rotations across various groups to gain a better understanding of the cross-functional departments. This could include:
- Patient safety
- Clinical operations
- Regulatory affairs
- Biostatistics
- Medical affairs
- Translational medicine or precision medicine
- Longitudinal Research Project: You will have opportunity to undertake a research project for the duration of the 2-year program, which may be an area of specialist interest to you and AstraZeneca, or alternatively focus on one or more of the rotational functions. The intent is that this will be presented at the end of the Program to key internal stakeholders, as well as at a key scientific meeting and published in a peer-reviewed journal.
MD or equivalent required; ideally board certified (or eligible) preferred in Oncology or Haematology/Oncology

You will work closely with our Controlling team to support various financial processes and projects that enhance the effectiveness of our central functions.
What You Do
- Assist in the preparation and analysis of financial reports, budgets, and forecasts.
- Support the month-end and other periodic closing processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of financial data.
- Analyze financial performance against budgets and forecasts, identifying trends and variances relevant to technology operations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and consolidate financial information.
- Provide administrative support to the Controlling team as needed.
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other MS Office applications.
- Basic understanding of financial principles and accounting practices.
- Interest in technology and its impact on financial processes as well as eagerness to learn and adapt in a dynamic work environment.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Currently pursuing a degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or a related field
