NEXT is a one-year graduate program developed by eDreams ODIGEO and designed for those who are about to or have recently graduated from a tech-related degree.

It’s focused on personal learning and development and at the same time allowing you to have a real experience of what it is like to work at eDO.

No serving coffees or doing copies, here you’ll have the chance to do real work that has an impact on the company. Ok, maybe a cup of coffee or two because they are free at the office and we can always have a quick break.

What you will do:

The main goal here is to learn. So don’t worry if you still don’t have a lot of experience or knowledge. We got your back.

During NEXT you’ll be able to develop the technical and soft skills that will help you start your career in technology to later keep growing through our career path. NEXT up, these are some of the things to expect:

• Work directly in one of our Agile multidisciplinary teams where you will influence products in one of our many areas, such as our booking experience, payments, searches and many more, working with cutting-edge technologies, like Java 8 to Java 11, ES6 code, frameworks like Backbone, Javascript libraries like ReactJS, VueJS and Lodash, Big Data (Kafka, Cassandra, Redis, Neo4j…), BigTable, Docker, Google Cloud, Style Sheet preprocessors like SASS, testing frameworks and libraries like Mocha, Chai, Underscore, Automatic Functional Testing (Selenium + Cucumber + NodeJS) or packages and task runners like WebPack, Babel, Grunt, NPM.
• Develop hands-on experience with applied AI development tools, including AI-powered coding assistants such as GitHub Copilot to improve development efficiency, code quality, and team productivity.
• A dedicated onboarding and career path, tailored to your needs and goals, with the possibility of choosing a Backend or Frontend path.
• Mentoring from experienced peers, with guided training and learning on the job with Senior Developers, Architects, QA Managers and many more.

If you’re a recent graduate from any tech-related field, such as Computer Science or similar, are fluent in English and still don’t have a lot of work experience, then what are you waiting for?

Of course, it helps if you have coded before, but more than experience, we’re looking for people with a fresh and proactive attitude with a sharp analytical mindset. You’re basically a go-getter who is always looking for ways to improve and iterate.

A strong interest and demonstrated engagement in AI is a must.

This includes exposure to or hands-on experience with Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, or automation, whether through academic coursework, personal projects, online learning, or independent experimentation. Curiosity alone is not enough; you should already be actively exploring or applying AI in some form.

But most importantly, you’re eager to learn!

What You Will Do

You'll join our Crawler Engineering team as a Backend Engineer focused on data acquisition. This is a building role: you'll design and develop high-performance systems, mostly in Rust, that collect billions of data points from the web. The work sits where backend engineering meets how the web works: HTTP stacks, proxies and browser tooling. When a data source blocks an approach, you'll dig into what's happening on the wire and find another way forward. You'll also help make our infrastructure "agent-friendly", so other teams can safely build on it with AI.

Where you will have impact

• Design, build and improve backend systems for data acquisition that handle close to 200 million requests a day.
• Work on our in-house proxy layer and browser tooling: request routing, connection handling and protocol-level behaviour.
• Investigate hard crawler problems, test alternative approaches when one gets blocked, and turn what works into robust, reusable systems.
• Build clear interfaces and guardrails so other teams and AI agents can use what you build reliably.
• Own the quality of your code, including code written with AI assistance: tests, observability and maintainability.
• Work closely with crawler engineers, DevOps and Security to ship solutions that are secure and scalable.

We handle close to 200 million requests a day across 200+ data sources, so the team carries a big responsibility for keeping our crawling infrastructure reliable, efficient and ahead of a web that keeps changing.

Who You Are

• You have hands on experience building, deploying and running production backend services in a cloud environment.
• You're experienced with a systems language such as Rust or C/C++, or you have a strong track record in another backend language and a real drive to go deep in Rust.
• You have a solid grasp of how the web works under the hood: HTTP, TCP/IP, TLS and proxies.
• You have an R&D mindset. You're curious about how browsers and network stacks work internally, you're comfortable with ambiguity, and you'd rather prove a hypothesis than assume it.
• You have strong analytical and debugging skills. You're comfortable with packet captures, profilers and reading other people's source code.
• You communicate clearly, share your opinions, welcome feedback and work well in a team.
