We are modernizing our backend infrastructure to a gRPC-based services architecture and seeking a skilled and pragmatic Unity networking expert to own the client-side networking integration. This role will be pivotal in ensuring performant, reliable, and scalable communication between the Unity game client and our evolving backend systems.
You will work alongside a team of senior and principal backend engineers dedicated to performance, scalability, and platform improvements, and collaborate with cross-functional client-side teams building game features. Your focus will be implementing and optimizing client-side gRPC communication, designing robust network abstractions, and working with teams to ensure seamless integration with the backend.
What You Will Do
- Lead the implementation of gRPC communication within the Unity game client
- Design and maintain clean networking abstractions that support multiplayer game features
- Collaborate closely with backend engineers to shape protocol design and performance goals
- Profile and optimize client-side network performance, memory usage, and latency
- Help set best practices and mentor client engineers on networking patterns and technologies
- Act as the technical owner for Unity networking, bridge the client-backend boundary during service splits, refactors, and integration.
- Contribute to internal tools, debug utilities, and build pipelines to improve developer velocity
- Highly experienced in game development with Unity and a focus on networked multiplayer games
- Deep experience with client-side networking systems (e.g., gRPC, Protobuf, REST, WebSockets, or custom binary protocols)
- Solid understanding of C# performance, async patterns, threading, and Unity architecture constraints
- Experience profiling and optimizing network flows in production environments
- Ability to work autonomously while coordinating across backend and feature teams
- Familiarity with versioned APIs, schema evolution, and compatibility concerns in distributed systems
- Experience with gRPC specifically in Unity (e.g., IL2CPP compatibility, or custom wrappers).
- Experience with gRPC in other engines (Unreal, Lumberyard, CryEngine, Custom)
- Experience shipping a live service game or working with live operations teams.
- Familiarity with microservice architectures and backend deployment pipelines.
- Background in gameplay engineering, especially in multiplayer titles.

This is a key role within our global finance team, reporting to the Group Director of Tax and working closely with the SVP Group Finance CFO, Audit Committee, and Global Leadership Team. - Cross-Border Tax Risk Management: Identify, analyse, and mitigate cross-border tax risks, ensuring compliance with international tax laws and regulations.

About The Role 🤓
We’re looking for a hands-on and strategic Data Engineering Lead to drive our data engineering efforts and guide a growing team of engineers. You’ll be responsible for designing scalable data architectures, optimizing data pipelines, and ensuring data reliability across the company. Depending on your seniority and profile, you could also take ownership of data analyst workflows and team management.

- Lead, mentor, and grow the data engineering team, setting best practices in architecture, development, and operations.
- Design and implement scalable, reliable, and secure data pipelines and data lake architectures.
- Collaborate with data analysts, data scientists, and business stakeholders to understand data needs and deliver robust solutions.
- Own the development and maintenance of ETL/ELT processes, data quality, versioning, and governance.
- Optimize performance across data workflows, ensuring efficiency and minimal downtime.
- Champion a data-first culture, ensuring our data infrastructure scales with the company’s needs.
- Support the potential integration of data analyst workflows and oversight, depending on your scope and experience.

What You’ll Need🤝
- Proven experience leading or mentoring data engineering teams.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work cross-functionally with technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Strong background in designing and implementing data platforms in cloud environments (ideally AWS, but GCP or Azure is also valuable).
- Solid experience with Kafka, Airflow, DBT and modern data warehouses (ideally Redshift, but BigQuery or Snowflake is also valuable).
- Advanced knowledge of Python and SQL.
- Familiarity with Devops culture, CI/CD practices and infrastructure as code (e.g. Terraform).
- Deep understanding of data governance, versioning, and quality control.
- (Nice to have) Experience working with data analysts or BI teams, and ability to guide analytics efforts.

Buscamos un/a Data Tech Lead que lidere técnicamente al equipo de Data Engineers en un entorno altamente transversal. Tendrá responsabilidad tanto en la definición de arquitectura y procesos como en la gestión humana del equipo. Guiará la evolución de nuestras plataformas de datos en un ecosistema cloud-first, escalable y data-driven, colaborando estrechamente con equipos técnicos, analíticos y de negocio.
🖥️ Responsabilidades
- Liderazgo técnico del equipo de datos, definiendo estándares, buenas prácticas y prioridades técnicas.
- Diseño e implementación de arquitecturas cloud, especialmente en GCP y BigQuery, alineadas con las necesidades del negocio.
- Desarrollo de procesos ETL complejos, optimizados para entornos de alto rendimiento.
- Diseño de modelos analíticos y soluciones escalables que soporten decisiones estratégicas en toda la organización.
- Gestión de reportes de BI, especialmente en Looker Studio y Tableau, impulsando una cultura de decisiones basadas en datos.
- Gestión de roles y permisos IAM en GCP, asegurando un entorno seguro y conforme a buenas prácticas.
- Colaboración multidisciplinar, actuando como interlocutor/a clave con stakeholders técnicos y de negocio para definir prioridades, estimaciones y roadmap.
- Planificación y estimación de esfuerzos en iniciativas del equipo de datos.
- Supervisión de entornos contenerizados, especialmente con Docker, en colaboración con el equipo de infraestructura.
- Fomento de la mejora continua, proponiendo evoluciones en la arquitectura, herramientas y procesos.
- Formación universitaria en Ingeniería Informática, Telecomunicaciones, Matemáticas o similar.
- +5 años de experiencia en ingeniería de datos, con al menos 2 liderando técnica o estratégicamente equipos.
- Experiencia sólida en GCP, especialmente con BigQuery, IAM, y herramientas como Dataflow, Cloud Composer y Cloud Storage.
- Dominio de SQL, Python y herramientas de versionado como GIT.
- Experiencia en diseño e implementación de ETLs complejas.
- Experiencia en BI con Looker Studio y Tableau.
- Familiaridad con entornos contenerizados como Docker.
- Excelentes habilidades de comunicación, planificación y gestión de prioridades.
- Fluidez en español e inglés.
