INTERNSHIP: Product Analytics (Apps & Growth)
carrots · Barcelona, ES
. Python TSQL UX/UI Office
We’re hiring a Product Analytics Intern to join one of our app squads — alongside a Product Owner, UX/UI Designer, and Developers — to make sure every decision we make is driven by data.
You’ll define event tracking plans, maintain dashboards, and turn behavioral data into insights that shape the product — from feature adoption to user retention.
If you love connecting numbers with real user stories, this role is for you.
⚠️ READ THIS FIRST — Apply only if you meet this:
- Eligibility: You’re currently studying at a university in Spain (ideally in or near Barcelona) and can sign a "convenio de prácticas". This position is open exclusively for internship agreements.
If you’re not sure whether your university can provide one, please confirm with them before applying, as we’ll automatically filter out candidates who can’t meet this requirement.
Otherwise, feel free to check out our other junior roles on the Carrots Lab LinkedIn page › Jobs
where a "convenio" isn’t required.
⭐ WHAT YOU’LL OWN (Your Mission)
- Product Tagging & Event Tracking:
- Collaborate with the Product Owner and Developers to define and implement the event tracking plan — naming conventions, parameters, and consistency across Firebase and Amplitude.
- User Behavior Analysis:
- Study funnels, sessions, screen paths, and retention curves to understand how users actually use our apps and where they drop off.
- Dashboard Creation & Maintenance:
- Build, automate, and maintain dashboards in Amplitude, Looker, and Firebase to visualize key product and engagement metrics.
- Insights & Decision Support:
- Present weekly findings to your squad — what’s working, what’s not, what to test next — ensuring the team makes decisions based on evidence.
- Market Research & Benchmarks:
- Use tools like Data.ai, SensorTower, and AppTweak to analyze competitors, category trends, and benchmark KPIs.
📈 WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE (90 Days)
- A clean and complete event tracking plan for your app, synced with Firebase and Amplitude.
- Weekly product reports shared with your squad, driving new A/B tests and UX improvements.
- Dashboards live in Looker or Amplitude tracking retention, funnel drop-offs, and adoption.
- Clear insight documentation connecting user behavior with feature performance.
- The product team actively references your data in sprint reviews and planning.
🧠 WHAT YOU’LL DO (Day-to-day)
- Collaborate with your Product Owner and developers to ensure correct tagging and event accuracy.
- Explore user data in Amplitude, Firebase, and Looker, identifying trends, anomalies, and insights.
- Track activation, retention, and engagement across new features and experiments.
- Prepare and share weekly insight reports with visuals and takeaways.
- Conduct competitor and market analysis using Data.ai, SensorTower, and AppTweak.
- Work cross-functionally with Data (Sergi) and Growth teams when metrics overlap (e.g., paywalls, trials, or monetization).
🛠️ WHAT YOU MUST HAVE (Hard Requirements)
Non-negotiable. Please apply only if you meet all.
- Currently enrolled in a university in Spain and able to sign a “convenio de prácticas.”
- Based in Barcelona or willing to work on-site/hybrid during the internship.
- Strong interest in product analytics, UX data, or app performance.
- Familiarity with tools like Amplitude, Firebase, Looker, BigQuery, Appsflyer, RevenueCat (or eager to learn them).
- Analytical mindset: can interpret funnels, retention, and engagement metrics.
- Comfortable with Google Sheets, charts, and creating structured reports.
- Excellent communication skills and curiosity to find the “why” behind user behavior.
- Full-time availability for at least 6 months.
🎯 NICE-TO-HAVE (Great to see)
- Basic knowledge of SQL or Python for exploration.
- Experience in mobile app analytics or coursework in data, UX, or digital product management.
- Understanding of A/B testing, cohort analysis, or retention curves.
- Previous experience with Data.ai, SensorTower, or AppTweak.
- Love for consumer apps — you track trends, try new apps, and think like a user.
🧩 HOW WE WORK

- Cadence: Weekly squad reviews; fast decisions, minimal meetings.
- Culture: High speed, high standards, zero drama. Every decision backed by data.
🎁 WHAT WE OFFER (Compensation & Benefits)
We offer a high-impact, high-autonomy role with a reward structure aligned to the company's growth in Barcelona.
- Paid Internship: This is a remunerated full-time position designed to give you real ownership and impact — not just “student tasks.”

- Flexibility & Time Off: Flexible working hours, 25 days annual leave, and 1 month of 'work from anywhere' outside of Spain.
- Executive Workspace & Tech: Private offices at Norrsken House Barcelona (with complimentary membership) and a generous €5,000 EUR budget for professional home-office equipment.
