SLIMOP Space is growing and opening five new positions in Nigrán–Vigo, Galicia, to accelerate the development of ultra-lightweight space optical systems, compact telescopes and next-generation optical payloads.

We develop advanced optical technologies for space in applications such as:

• Earth Observation
• Optical communications / lasercom / QKD
• Advanced optical payloads
• Compact telescopes for SmallSats and space missions

Our work combines:

• Optical engineering
• Precision optomechanics
• Metrology, AIT and experimental validation
• Space systems
• Firmware, FPGA and payload electronics
• Strategic R&D project management and public funding

We are looking for engineers, physicists and STEM profiles with genuine motivation for space, deep-tech innovation and real hardware development.

SLIMOP-2026-01 — Junior Optical Engineer — Space Optical Payloads

Optical design, performance, analysis, WFE, tolerancing and simulation of optical architectures for space

telescopes and optical payloads.

Beyond technical aptitude, we are looking for attitude: curiosity, rigour, commitment, initiative, ownership

and passion for building real space technology. At SLIMOP, we believe that
