ISP Bus Monitor

Purpose of Role

  • To monitor students at all times from the time of collection and safe delivery to school.
  • Maintain safety and order and ensure that all students are aware of the safety procedures whilst on the bus, whether it be static or moving, this will of course include, ensuring that seatbelts are always worn.
  • Assist with the loading and unloading of students on/off the bus.
  • Provide special assistance to students if required, ie impaired movement/ wheelchairs if needed.
  • Maintain good relations with parents and show professional conduct at all times.
  • Ensure that bus registers are up to date and follow up any student sicknesses and report any unknown absences to the class/ form teacher, Headteacher and the DSL.

Key Responsibilities

  • Adhere to global ISP Principles and follow the criteria set out by International Schools Partnership
  • Under the reasonable direction of the Headteacher and the Head of Administration carry out the professional duties of a school bus monitor.
  • Interact with all members of the school community.
  • Adhere to the school Health and Safety policy at all times.

Operational Responsibilities

  • Be punctual for bus collections and ensure that you always arrive before the first pick up time.
  • Adhere to school policies and procedures in relation to Health and Safety , Safeguarding and Behaviour
  • Keep up to date with developments within the school calendar.
  • Be an active member of the school community to support its vision, school values and its dedication to constantly “get better” and promote amazing learning opportunities.
  • Liaise effectively with families and BSA staff to promote pupil safety and well-being

Skills, Qualifications And Experience

  • High School Education
  • Knowledge of Languages is required but not essential, however Spanish is compulsory and English is desirable.
  • Ability to assist students with patience and understanding.
