Predoctoral fellow for Bioengineering Section The Bioengineering Department of the Universitat Internacional de Catalunya (UIC) is seeking candidates for applying for STEP grants to hire research staff in training (FI-STEP) for young scientists from the national and international community who wish to undertake a doctoral degree in bioengineering.

This PhD project will focus on developing novel biomaterials for regenerative therapies.

Key research areas include biomaterial synthesis and characterization, 3D bioprinting, cell-material interactions, and applications in tissue engineering and regenerative medicine.

Main tasks and responsibilities * Conduct research adhering to high standards.

  • Communicate and disseminate research findings to both expert and public audiences.
  • Assist in drafting and submitting papers to peer-reviewed journals.
  • Mentor bachelor's and master's degree students.

The position involves some teaching (up to 10 credits), matched with the candidate's background.

What We Offer * Full-time, fixed-term contract as a Predoctoral fellow at UIC in Sant Cugat, Barcelona.

  • Potential extension of predoctoral studies up to four years.

Our recent publications include high-impact journals such as Progress in Materials Science, Materials Today, and Advanced Materials.

Requirements for Candidates * Degree in Bioengineering, Biomedical Engineering, Chemistry, Biology, Materials Science, Biomaterials, or related fields.

  • Official Spanish bachelor's degree or equivalent, plus a master's degree or equivalent, totaling at least 300 ECTS credits.
  • Ability to work independently and in teams.
  • High proficiency in English (oral and written).
  • Motivated, organized, proactive, with strong teamwork and communication skills.
