Role Overview
We are seeking a General Manager (Spain) to take full ownership of business performance, growth, and market leadership in Spain. This is a senior leadership role with end-to-end responsibility across commercial strategy, operations, and organizational leadership in a fast-paced, tech-driven environment.
The role requires a highly commercial, hands-on leader with deep experience in technology-driven businesses, particularly within domains, hosting, SaaS, or cloud-related industries. You will drive revenue growth, market expansion, and brand positioning while leading a large, high-performing organization.
Key Responsibilities
Commercial & Strategic Leadership
- Define and execute the overall business strategy for Spain, with full commercial ownership
- Drive revenue growth across customer acquisition, retention, cross-sell, and upsell
- Lead marketing and sales strategy, with a strong focus on mass marketing and performance marketing
- Adapt global go-to-market strategies to local market dynamics
Operational Excellence
- Oversee local operations and ensure alignment with central/global teams
- Drive data-driven decision-making across all commercial functions
- Identify market opportunities, trends, and competitive positioning
Leadership & Organization
- Lead and scale a large, multidisciplinary organization (up to ~300 employees)
- Build, develop, and retain high-performing leadership teams
- Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement
Financial Ownership
- Hold shared P&L responsibility for the Spanish business
- Drive profitability, cost efficiency, and sustainable growth
- Monitor performance metrics and ensure achievement of revenue and EBITDA targets
Candidate Profile
Experience & Background
- Proven experience as a General Manager or senior commercial leader
- Strong track record in technology-driven industries (e.g., SaaS, hosting, cloud, digital platforms) !!!!!
- Significant experience in marketing and sales leadership, including performance marketing
- Demonstrated success in delivering strong revenue and EBITDA growth
- Experience leading large-scale organizations (200–300 employees)
- Early career background in consulting is advantageous
Market & Functional Expertise
- Deep understanding of the Spanish market and local business environment
- Experience working within Spain is strongly preferred
- Strong technical understanding of digital products and platforms
Leadership & Personal Attributes
- Entrepreneurial, hands-on, and execution-focused
- Resilient and comfortable operating in high-growth, fast-changing environments
- Strong communicator with excellent stakeholder management skills
- Collaborative, low-ego leadership style with the ability to inspire teams
Education
- Degree in Business, Engineering, Computer Science, or related field
- MBA or postgraduate qualification is a plus
Additional Requirements
- Fluent Spanish (mandatory)
- Willingness to be onsite at least 3 days per week
