Job Description

As a DevOps Engineer focused on our Backstage platform, you will lead the infrastructure and functionality of our internal developer portal, supporting and developing integrations that enhance our platform and improve the developer experience. You will work closely with other teams in our center of excellence, (Integration Architecture, Security and QA) to take end-to-end responsibility for our cloud setups, CI/CD pipelines, and production systems, ensuring a stable and high-availability development environment.

In this role, you will ensure that the Backstage portal is fully integrated with the company´s internal services, such as infrastructure provisioning systems. You will implement custom templates and blueprints, maintain a high-quality catalog of APIs and components, and work with tools like EKS (AWS Elastic Kubernetes Service), ArgoCD, and GitHub Actions within a GitOps framework to optimize infrastructure management and continuous delivery.

Responsibilities/Tasks:
- Design, develop, and improve Backstage integrations with other internal services.
- Automate repetitive tasks at all levels, including testing, packaging, and dependency management.
- Design and optimize CI/CD pipelines for Backstage workflows.
- Monitor the platform´s performance, security, and availability.
- Collaborate on application cloud migration and orchestrated environment setups.

You will be a product-centric engineer (not a ticket-handling machine), taking ownership of mid-size initiatives, in parallel to routine maintenance or incident resolution work. You will **learn from the entire team, both on technical topics (performance, architecture…) and core skills, in an environment driven by engineering quality. You will **share your knowledge, through the RFCs you write, pairing sessions, our mentoring programme or the occasional appearance in the monthly Tech All Hands.

Las funciones de un ´Software / Data Engineer´ para un proyecto de Inteligencia Artificial (AI) son una combinación de habilidades de ingeniería de software y ciencia de datos, enfocadas en construir y mantener la infraestructura y los sistemas necesarios para desarrollar, implementar y escalar soluciones de AI. Aquí te presento una lista de funciones clave:

Construcción y Mantenimiento de la Infraestructura de Datos:

Diseñar, construir y mantener pipelines de datos robustos y escalables. Esto incluye la ingesta, transformación, limpieza y almacenamiento de grandes volúmenes de datos (big data) de diversas fuentes.
Seleccionar y configurar las tecnologías de almacenamiento de datos más adecuadas para el proyecto de AI, como bases de datos relacionales, NoSQL, data lakes (por ejemplo, Hadoop, Spark, AWS S3, Azure Data Lake Storage, Google Cloud Storage) y data warehouses.
Implementar procesos de ETL/ELT (Extracción, Transformación, Carga / Extracción, Carga, Transformación) para preparar los datos para el entrenamiento de modelos de AI y el análisis.
Garantizar la calidad, integridad y seguridad de los datos a lo largo de todo el ciclo de vida.
Monitorear y optimizar el rendimiento de los pipelines y sistemas de datos.

Implementar y automatizar los flujos de trabajo de MLOps para garantizar la reproducibilidad, el versionado y la gestión de los modelos de AI.
Optimizar el rendimiento de los modelos de AI para su despliegue en producción. Esto puede implicar la optimización del código, la infraestructura y la selección de algoritmos.
