Our MISSION is providing digital and core SAP procurement solutions to fulfil the requirements from BASF companies. The Global Procurement team deliver solutions for all BASF divisions.

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT

- Elaborate technical design (ABAP OO /customizing) of possible solutions for subject-specific business requirements
- Develop, configure and test complex applications, including quality assurance and managing projects in cooperation with our business partners and third-party providers
- Implement and/or customize relevant digital applications
- Managing and maintaining operational business support in BASF SAP application landscape
- Steer third party provider in terms of solution or service delivery of procurement
- You will come with us on our journey from the current SAP R/3 to the S/4 HANA system from the beginning.
- Interfaces and dealing with different technologies will be part of your daily work: SAP CPI, SAP PO, SAP PI, REST, JSon, OData, ALE, BAPI, XML, SOAP, Proxy, Webservice, Kafka event bus
- Manage implementation workstreams for SAP procurement modules
- The team uses agile methodology, and you will work with methods like Scrum or Kanban in a global team.

REQUIREMENTS

- Degree in Computer Science, Informatics, Business Informatics or in a comparable field
- Wo5-7 years of experience in working with building/supporting complex SAP applications; especially in purchasing processes; SAP API Portal
- 5-7 years of experience in working with international project teams
- Advanced/fluent written and spoken language skills in English. All meetings/workshops are in English.
- Advanced skills in Digital technology - S4/HANA, CDS view, Fiori, UI5, API. Optional :, RPA / automation, Power Platform, Machine Learning / Artificial Intelligence, etc
- Basic skills in Agile way of working or agile implementation approach
- Intermediate skills in Problem management, Change Management (incl. small business requests) and Continuous Service Improvement (CSI)
- Agile mindset, proactive entrepreneurial action, good self-organized work organization and teamwork in an agile environment, complemented by a strong innovation and customer orientation

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT

- As part of an agile DevOps team, you will independently drive the further development of the BASF Procurement solution into a central platform based on microservices.
- You will be responsible for both the design and end-to-end implementation of individual microservices and ensure their smooth operation to build a stable and sustainable API-Layer for several consuming applications.
- Taking care of the smooth and secure integration of new services into the overall BASF system landscape and existing backend systems will be in your responsibility.
- You will take care of code quality by defining coding conventions and development guidelines, ensuring high test coverage and introducing code quality tools
- Through the continuous optimization of our CI/CD pipelines and test frameworks, you will make a significant contribution to the automation of development and deployment processes within the team.

REQUIREMENTS

- Several years of professional experience in Java backend development (very good knowledge of Java 8+)
- In-depth knowledge of the Spring ecosystem, including Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Data, and Spring Security
- 5 years of Java and 3 years of Spring experience
- Proficiency in RESTful API design and implementation
- Experience with unit testing frameworks, such as JUnit, for writing comprehensive and reliable tests, including mocking techniques and Spring Boot tests
- Familiarity with code quality tools, such as SonarQube, to ensure high-quality code
- Experience with relational and/or No-SQL database systems, such as PostgreSQL or MongoDB and respective Java mapping tools (e.g., Hibernate)
- Basic knowledge about messaging and streaming technologies like JMS or Apache Kafka
- Certain familiarity with front-end technologies such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
- Knowledge of DevOps principles and practices, including containerization (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes), CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure as code (IaC)
- Familiarity with cloud platforms, such as AWS or Azure (preferred)
- Ideally basic experience in monitoring services and solutions (with e.g. DataDog) in hybrid cloud environments

In our Senior Project Next Generation Business Architecture, you will be part of the team which is responsible for the IT program and project management of BASF´s future S/4HANA Business Architecture. A central element will be the transition of our current SAP R/3 ERP into S/4 HANA which aims to reduce complexity, get closer to Standard and thereby, build the foundation for digitalization at scale.

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT

- As Workstream Lead "Data Migration & Cutover Management" of project Mercury, form & steer the IT rollout functions Data Migration & Cutover Management during pilot and rollout.
- Drive data cleansing activities (including the development of a data cleansing concept & timeline) in strong collaboration with key stakeholders from IT, Operating Divisions and Service Units.
- Closely manage project objectives, scope, cost and resources as a member of the Mercury IT Project Management team in close collaboration with the global rollout workstream of project Mercury.
- Proactively identify and manage project risks and issues, and implement appropriate mitigation strategies in strong collaboration with the selected System Integrator (SI).
- Actively prepare project decisions, ensuring that project goals are met and that required decisions are taken.
- Contribute strongly to the SI Performance Management & Reporting.
- Collaborate with NGBA Program Management and different stakeholders across several GD Product Families, Service Units, Corporate Centers and Operating Divisions.
- Finally, you explore new technologies (e.g. Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Generative AI.) to further improve efficiency for our team and enable faster and broader usage of GenAI related opportunities in NGBA projects.

REQUIREMENTS OF THE POSITION

- Bachelor´s or Master´s Degree in Computer Science, Business Informatics, or Information Technology
- 5+ years of experience as an SAP project lead/manager with ERP background, and proven track record in medium/large projects
- Demonstrated ability to effectively coordinate and manage cross functional teams
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and make sound decisions
- Strong communication skills in English and assertiveness

Join our Team Quality Assurance & Control DevOps within the department Digitalization of Production & Technology and be part of our journey to drive our application portfolio for our global stakeholder community. Our goal is to support the divisions to comply to regulatory and legal requirements, improve administrational, production and logistic processes to make them more effective and efficient.

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT
• You work in a DevOps (Development and Operations) organization.
• Lead or support SAP QM implementations, rollouts, and optimization projects across Asia.
• Collaborate with global IT and business stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into SAP solutions.
• Contribute to SAP S/4HANA migration projects, in the QM area, ensuring clean data transition and continuity of quality processes.
• Support integration between SAP QM and lab systems (e.g., LIMS, CDS, or instrument data interfaces).

REQUIREMENTS
• Bachelor´s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Chemistry, or related fields. SAP certifications are a plus.
• Minimum 5-8 years of experience as SAP Consultant, with at least 5 years in SAP QM.
• Solid exposure to SAP PP and MM in an integrated environment.
• Successful delivery of at least two end-to-end SAP QM implementation projects and experience in S/4HANA projects (brownfield or greenfield).
• Experience with lab systems integration (e.g., LIMS, instrument interfaces).
• Experience with global templates and regional rollouts in multinational companies.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a multicultural environment.
• Proficient in English (written and spoken).
• Experience with digital documents processing (e.g., using OCR or AI for certificates).

In the product team Legal, Tax & Compliance you consult our Internal Business Partners as well as operating divisions or service units with technical questions.

The IS DevOps Engineer understands functional solution designs and translates them into technical designs and realization. You are responsible for the design and development of functional or technical applications or the enhancements to existing applications. You have deep knowledge of SAP S/4 HANA, implementation and development of new software and in database technology. You are expert in different programming languages (e.g. ABAP, SQL, JAVA) and ideally you have also good knowledge of UX development (e.g. SAP Fiori, mobile Apps, UI5)

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT

- Management of complex development environments using both internal and external resources
- Technical and functional design and implementation of application enhancements and new applications for BASF Tax Compliance Management processes
- Development of those application by using state-of-the-art design and programming methods and ensuring compliance with all relevant BASF guidelines for development
