The Credit Risk team undertakes a thorough, rigorous analysis of the SME businesses looking to use our services. This includes an assessment of their markets, financials, products, activities and cash headroom modelling.
You will be expected to prepare submissions and present to our Credit Committee making recommendations, as well as contribute to the development of automated risk modelling and to adapt our processes to local markets.
What You Will Do
- Support, and report to, the Credit Risk Manager.
- Undertake ad hoc requests from the Head of Credit Risk and SVP of Credit Risk.
- Perform detailed credit analysis of prospects and clients for the purpose of granting trade finance and currency trading products, with a focus on financials, operations, and trading cycles.
- Present and defend your analysis personally at credit committee meetings to senior management.
- Engage closely with other teams, such as front office and operations, to ensure a smooth client experience and that decisions made within the Credit Risk team are relayed clearly.
- Manage an existing portfolio of clients, monitoring their credit standing and risk v reward for Ebury.
- Proactively manage your own pipeline of work.
- Liaising with managers across our other geographies to add insight or assist where necessary.
- Share your thoughts to improve our processes.
- A background in SME credit underwriting, experience in financial analysis, or a demonstrable understanding of how to assess an entity's creditworthiness.
- A clear, structured, and concise communication style with the ability to explain complex concepts in a coherent way.

The Opportunity
Ebury’s growing portfolio of sports sponsorships presents a unique opportunity to strengthen our brand, build deeper client relationships, and generate high-value leads within the sports and corporate sector. Currently, these activities are managed by the local teams alongside their day-to-day responsibilities. This position will serve as the central point of contact for all sports sponsorship activities, ensuring a cohesive, strategic, and measurable approach across Ebury’s global network. Key Responsibilities
- Partnership Management
- Build and nurture strong relationships with the partnership teams at our sponsored sports organisations.

- Hospitality Management
- Design a strategy for maximizing the value of Ebury’s hospitality assets across all sponsored teams.
- Establish clear guidelines for allocating hospitality to support sales efforts, deepen client relationships, and reward key stakeholders.
- Create a centralized system to track hospitality inventory and usage.
- Develop innovative hospitality experiences for:
- Client Entertainment: Premium matchday events, exclusive access, and meet-and-greet opportunities:
- Prospecting: Inviting potential clients to unique hospitality experiences.
- Client Rewards: Offering exclusive experiences to strengthen loyalty.

Experience & Skills
- Experience in the sports industry: A solid understanding of the sports landscape, including key stakeholders, trends, and business models. This could include experience working for a sports team, league, agency, or sports-related brand.
- Strong relationship management skills: Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including senior executives, partners, and sponsors. This should include experience collaborating with cross-functional teams and managing external agencies.

Responsibilities:
- Lead the evolution of our client platform with innovative services, maintaining full ownership from conception to deployment.
- Mentor and support junior and mid-level engineers through code reviews, pair programming, and architectural guidance.

- Graph database modelling encouraged.
- Event driven architecture data modelling encouraged.
- Extensive, hands-on experience with data warehousing, data lakes, and cloud platforms, including leading the architectural design and strategic implementation of data solutions at scale.
- Demonstrated ability to technically lead large-scale projects, align senior stakeholders on technical strategy, and present complex proposals to leadership.
- Proven track record of mentoring engineers and setting technical standards within a team.

- Work on reducing technical debt by addressing code that is outdated, inefficient, or no longer aligned with best practices or business needs.
- Collaborate with team members to reinforce best practices across the platform, encouraging a shared commitment to quality.
- Help to implement data governance policies, including data quality standards, data access control, and data classification.
- Identify opportunities to optimise and refine existing processes.
About you:
- 8-12+ years of data/analytics engineering experience building, maintaining & optimising data pipelines & ETL processes on big data environments
- Proficiency in Python and SQL
- Knowledge of software engineering practices in data (SDLC, RFC...)
- Stay informed about the latest developments and industry standards in Data
- Fluency in English
- Experience with our modern Data stack tools is a plus
- Dimensional modelling/data warehousing concepts knowledge is a plus
- Spanish speaking skills is a plus

Our data mission is to develop and maintain Ebury´s Data Platform and serve it to the whole company, where Data Scientists, Data Engineers, Analytics Engineers and Data Analysts work collaboratively.
As a Staff Data Engineer, you will work closely with the rest of the team to help model and maintain the Data Platform.

Responsibilities:

- Align with senior stakeholders and leadership to define the technical strategy for data, articulating complex technical trade-offs and ensuring platform roadmaps meet defined business requirements.
- Serve as a recognized expert and the go-to person for complex problem-solving within the data domain, overseeing multiple workstreams and delivering impactful projects.

- Technically lead large-scale data initiatives, identifying opportunities to reduce complexity, improve reliability, and enhance efficiency.

About you:
- Proficiency in Python for data transformation and validation
- Proficiency in SQL for querying and managing large datasets, as well as extensive experience working with structured and unstructured data sources.
- Deep expertise in data engineering and modelling skills such as slowly changing dimensions and dimensional modelling.
- Graph database modelling encouraged.
- Event driven architecture data modelling encouraged.
- Extensive, hands-on experience with data warehousing, data lakes, and cloud platforms, including leading the architectural design and strategic implementation of data solutions at scale.
- Demonstrated ability to technically lead large-scale projects, align senior stakeholders on technical strategy, and present complex proposals to leadership.
- Proven track record of mentoring engineers and setting technical standards within a team.
- Deep experience with GCP (Google Cloud Platform) tools and services, such as BigQuery, Cloud Run, and Cloud Functions.
- Self-motivation and curiosity, with a desire to learn and grow in a fast-paced environment, continuously improving both technical and business skills.
- Fluency in English (Spanish, a plus).
