Chief Product Officer

Location | Madrid (On‑site, 4–5 days per week)

NC1512

Finatal is partnered with a rapidly growing AI startup in Spain, building a next‑generation chatbot platform. Following a successful funding round and ongoing product expansion, the company is seeking a Chief Product Officer to lead its next phase of product development and innovation.

The ideal candidate will come from a founder background or have experience working within a high‑growth scale‑up, bringing both strategic and hands‑on capability. Those from large corporate environments are unlikely to suit this fast‑paced, entrepreneurial setting.

You’ll be responsible for partnering closely with the CEO to shape the product vision and roadmap, drive innovation in AI and consumer product development, and coach a talented product and engineering team. This role demands a balance of product insight, leadership, and forward‑thinking vision to anticipate where the industry is heading over the next 6–12 months.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience leading product teams within high‑growth startups or scale‑ups, with the ability to remain hands‑on and coach product and technical teams.
  • Founder mindset or early‑stage company experience, ideally within technology or AI‑led environments.
  • Previous experience of working with AI commercially is a huge bonus; if not, the ability to demonstrate extreme curiosity and deep knowledge of the AI industry.
  • A proven background of working with a B2C environment, with a particular focus on consumer apps.
  • Experience of working in highly competitive B2C businesses (e.g. food delivery, rideshare, e‑commerce) would be hugely beneficial.
  • We need someone bold who’s not afraid to take educated risks – someone who can help the company transform the industry, not just make 1% improvements.
  • Low ego is key. We need an individual who can offer constructive pushbacks when needed and be a genuine voice among the exec team, without arguing over every little point.
  • Experience of working within the Brazilian market or strong knowledge of the market would be hugely beneficial.
  • Flexible, startup mentality with the drive to anticipate and shape where the industry will be in the next 6–12 months.
  • Fluent English and willingness to work on‑site in Madrid (4–5 days per week).

If this aligns with your experience, or you know someone who could be a fit, please contact Niamh Currie at [email protected].
