JUNO Genetics-Spain is looking for a Genetic Analyst to join our team based in Valencia. If you're passionate about the world of Genetics, this is your opportunity!
Your main mission will be to provide a specialist clinical service in reproductive genetics laboratory including the interpretation of clinical reports referred from various healthcare providers prior to test analysis, generate of genetic reports, and support for the efficient and effective operation of the laboratory, ensuring the safe, timely, and accurate delivery of test results.
Main responsibilities:
- To combine clinical, genetic, population, and functional evidence to curate variants according to the guidelines (ex. ACMG) in our data base following established policies and procedures, in a professional manner.
- To analyse and interpret results (NGS, qPCR, MLPA) and approve results according to standard procedures.
- To evaluate and provide assessment of pathogenicity for detected DNA sequence variants and/or DNA Copy Number Variations (CNV).
- To communicate patients results and answer enquiries from health care professionals, providing information and explaining results, within departmental guidelines and according to the professional code of conduct.
- To assist in the maintenance of IQC and QC systems for the laboratory’s genetic tests.
- To assist, when required, in the preparation of documents for the laboratory’s Quality Management System, according to the standards of ISO15189.
- To analysis and interpret genetic results in order to perform matching between patients/donors for reproductive risk assessment.
Position requirements:
- Academic training: BSc /MSc or equivalent in Biological Sciences.
- Languages: Fluent English.
- Experience: Previous experience in data interpretation (MLPA, NGS, etc) and variant curation preferred. Clinical laboratory experience in human genetics. Cross-disciplinary and strong analytical skills as well as broad experience using computational methods, databases, software and hardware. Knowledge of maintaining an accredited clinical service including ENAC (ISO 15189).

-Work accurately, neatly, and efficiently. Attention to detail is very important.
-Work as part of a team, but also independently.
-An appreciation of the importance of maintaining patient confidentiality at all times.
-The ability to communicate efficiently, accurately, and courteously with other members of the laboratory and with external medical professionals in English and Spanish- both.
