About The Job

Based at the Mandarin Oriental Punta Negra, Mallorca, as the People & Culture Assistant you will support the daily operations of the department, ensuring employee well-being and fostering a positive work environment. Assists with maintaining personnel records, managing compensation, and supporting recruitment, selection, and training processes.

As People & Culture Coordinator, you will be responsible for the following duties:

  • Assist with Recruitment and Hiring Processes: Support in sourcing candidates, posting job openings, screening resumes, conducting assessments, and coordinating onboarding.
  • Assist in Organizing Employee Engagement Activities: Help plan and organize employee engagement events and recognition programs.
  • Support Daily Operations of People & Culture Functions: Assist in ensuring smooth daily HR activities, focusing on employee well-being and fostering a positive work environment.
  • Colleagues Assistance: Maintain open communication with staff, addressing their needs efficiently and promoting an inclusive, collaborative atmosphere.
  • Maintain Personnel Records & Assist in Compensation & Benefits Administration: Support in keeping personnel records up to date, track changes in employment, and assist in monitoring compensation and benefits information.
  • Security and Confidentiality of Information: Ensure personal and P&C data are handled securely, complying with privacy and confidentiality standards.

As People & Culture Coordinator, We Expect From You

Experience and education

  • Degree in Psychology, Labor Relations, Law, or similar, with a specialization in HR.
  • Previous experience in People & Culture preferably in luxury hospitality industry, will be a plus.

Technical skills

  • Recruitment and Selection: Knowledge of recruitment processes, conducting interviews, and evaluating candidates, as well as using recruitment platforms effectively.
  • Positive and Proactive Attitude: Strong sense of responsibility, with a positive and proactive approach to work.
  • Attention to Detail and Interpersonal Skills: Self-driven, a team player with strong interpersonal skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in MS Office: Including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Effective Communication Skills: Both written and spoken in Spanish, Catalan, and English.
  • HR Management Tools and Software: Previous knowledge in using specialized HR software (e.g., SAP HR, Workday, ADP, BambooHR) for managing payroll, benefits, absences, and employee evaluations.
  • Payroll and Compensation: Ability to assist in payroll tasks (deductions, overtime, supplementary payments) to ensure payments are processed accurately and on time.
  • Knowledge of Spanish Labour Legislation will be a plus.
