We’re Hiring: CAD / Piping Designer (m/f)

CRYOCAD is a growing engineering firm based in Gijón, Spain, with additional technical presence in Colombia. We specialize in 3D design and piping engineering services for modular skid systems, and we also offer Smap3D consulting and implementation services. Our clients span the globe, with a strong focus on the United States, Canada, and Europe. At CRYOCAD, we deliver intelligent design solutions using SolidWorks and Smap3D.

What You’ll Do

As part of our team, you will be responsible for:

• 3D design of process piping systems using SolidWorks or Autodesk Inventor
• Drafting 2D manufacturing drawings and fabrication documents
• Designing modular skids such as pump skids and process equipment assemblies
• Creating P&IDs (Process and Instrumentation Diagrams)
• Generating piping isometrics using Smap3D
• Preparing parts and setting up design databases
• Providing technical support to clients

What We’re Looking For

We are seeking a technically skilled and motivated designer who thrives in a collaborative, international work environment.

Required Qualifications:

• Strong background in CAD and mechanical design (e.g., draftsman, CAD designer, mechanical design engineer, industrial designer)
• Experience in piping or mechanical 3D design
• Proficiency in SolidWorks or Autodesk Inventor
• Experience with 2D drafting software such as AutoCAD or DraftSight
• Familiarity with P&IDs, piping isometrics, and technical documentation
• Excellent command of English (spoken and written)
• Independent, detail-oriented, and solution-driven work ethic
• Availability to work onsite in 33206 Gijón for the first 6 months (100% remote work possible thereafter)
• Preferably based in Asturias (Gijón, Avilés, Oviedo area)

Nice to Have:

• Experience with Smap3D or comparable piping tools (e.g., AutoCAD Plant 3D, SolidWorks Routing)
• Knowledge of international piping standards (e.g., ASME, DIN, ISO)
• Background in sectors such as water treatment, oil & gas, or industrial equipment
