ROLE SUMMARY:

King’s College School Alicante is seeking an inspiring and knowledgeable English & Literature Teacher to deliver exceptional teaching at A Level and/or within the IBDP. The role also includes teaching English to middle and senior school pupils as needed. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Teach English Language and Literature to A Level and/or IBDP with high academic expectations.
• Deliver effective English lessons to younger middle and senior school pupils as required.
• Track, assess and support pupil progress, ensuring excellent outcomes.
• Differentiate teaching strategies to meet the needs of learners, including students with English as an additional language.
• Contribute to curriculum development within the English department.
• Participate in whole-school initiatives, enrichment programmes and extracurricular activities.
• Engage in continuous professional development and reflective practice.
• Integrate educational technologies—including AI, VR and digital tools—to enrich learning experiences.
  
  

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:

• Successful experience teaching English to A Level and/or IBDP with evidence of strong pupil progress.
• A creative, student-centred approach rooted in Quality First Teaching.
• Fluency in English with highly articulate written, spoken and academic communication skills.
• Confidence teaching a range of age groups across the middle and senior school.
• A collaborative, positive and proactive attitude, contributing fully to the life of the department and school.
• Ability to adapt teaching to support learners whose first language may not be English.
• Strong commitment to pastoral care and to nurturing the whole child.
• A reflective approach with enthusiasm for ongoing professional learning.
• Willingness to embrace educational technology and innovative teaching methods.
