2K Shared Development Studios, the worldwide centralized services group, is growing its localization teams. We are seeking a Translator to work on multiple 2K projects. You are as passionate about delivering high-quality translation as about growing junior translators in their careers.

The Translator coordinates, facilitates, and is the bridge between multiple partners, internal and external. This is a great opportunity to join a team of Localization enthusiasts focused on delivering best-in-class video game localization.

Your role is to convert English text into French using your language skills. Your translations must be culturally and linguistically relevant to both projects and the target audience while matching the source context/meaning and being aware of cultural sensitivity, under the supervision of the Production group.

What You Will Do

Translate 2K games documents in any given format (.xlsx, .docx, .txt, directly in CMS database: XLOC, in memoQ).
Proofread and edit translations from external vendors.
Create, maintain, and update style guides and terminology for 2K intellectual properties in French.
Translate/trans-create all 2K localization material from English to French to a high-quality standard that matches the specific style, tone, and voice.
Familiarize yourself with and become an expert on every 2K intellectual property in French.
Mentor Junior Translators.
You are responsible for all linguistic aspects of your assigned translations, ensuring the best possible quality.
Suggest improvements to the translation process to achieve best-in-class translation.
Research various sources, including dictionaries, hardware manufacturers' terminology guides, and internal reference material, to find the correct translation.
Make required cultural changes to the text to fit the target market.
Collaborate with a multilingual team of translators and cross-reference issues/goals.
Train others on translation memory software, such as memoQ to increase efficiency and consistency.

What Will Make You A Great Fit

Formación Ciclo Grado Superior en electricidad / electrónica / climatización, PCI o afín en la rama de mantenimiento

⚓ Funciones principales

-Gobierno y navegación de embarcaciones a vela, principalmente ketches, garantizando la seguridad de los pasajeros y la tripulación.

-Recepción y atención a los clientes a bordo, ofreciendo una experiencia náutica segura, profesional y de calidad.

-Planificación de rutas y travesías según condiciones meteorológicas y preferencias de los clientes.

-Mantenimiento básico del barco (vela, motor, equipo de seguridad y maniobra).

-Gestión de maniobras en puerto y coordinación con tripulación si procede.

2K Shared Development Studios, the worldwide centralized services group, is growing its localization teams. We are seeking a Senior Translator to work on multiple 2K projects. You are as passionate about delivering high-quality translation as about growing translators in their careers.

The Sr Translator coordinates, facilitates, and is the bridge between multiple partners, internal and external. This is a great opportunity to join a team of Localization enthusiasts focused on delivering best in class video game localization.

Your role is to convert English text into Spanish using your language skills. Your translations will need to be culturally and linguistically relevant to both projects and target audience while matching the source context/meaning and be aware of any cultural sensitivity, under the supervision of the Production group.

What You Will Do

Translate 2K games documents in any given format (.xlsx, .docx, .txt, directly in CMS database: XLOC, in memoQ).
You will be responsible for leading the translation teams on several of 2K IPs.
Create, maintain, and update style guides and terminology for 2K intellectual properties in Spanish.
Advise on aspects of Spanish language and culture.
Translate/trans-create all 2K localization material from English to Spanish to a high-quality standard that matches the specific style, tone, and voice.
Familiarize yourself with and become the go-to expert on every 2K intellectual property in Spanish.
Lead translation teams.
You are responsible for all linguistic aspects of your assigned translations, ensuring the best possible quality.
Suggest improvements to the translation process to achieve best-in-class translation.
To find the correct translation, research various sources, including dictionaries, hardware manufacturers' terminology guides, and internal reference material.
Make required cultural changes to the text to fit the target market.
Collaborate with a multilingual team of translators and cross-reference issues/goals.
Train other members on CAT tool, such as memoQ to increase efficiency and consistency.
Write documentation (How-To, Tutorials, Guides) for CAT tool to facilitate new translators enrollment and to improve the current translation team's proficiency with CAT tools.

What You Will Need to Succeed

Passionate about video games and localization.
Spanish language: native level speaker.
English: Fluent speaker.
Very good understanding of the source and target language culture.
Thorough comprehension of the video game localization process
Ability to work independently and within a team.
Understand 2K's quality standards and ensure they are always upheld.
Ability to adapt to new software and processes.
Videogame translation experience: 5 years
Experience in trans-creation, script adaptation, copywriting a must.
Excellent writing skills and command of grammar mixed with a good sense of flow/style.
Proven knowledge of MS Office products (especially Excel), Google Sheets, memoQ (or other CAT tool) and terminology management.
