Job Purpose
The Project Manager will be responsible for overseeing specific Capex expansion, remodeling, and construction projects at Hamelin-Laie International School as identified by the School Principal. This role requires ensuring that all projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality and safety.
The Project Manager will adhere strictly to safeguarding, health and safety policies, ensuring that all construction activities are conducted within a safe and compliant environment for staff, students, and visitors.
REPORTING TO: Operations Manager
Key Responsibilities
Project Planning & Management:
Develop, coordinate, and oversee project plans, schedules, budgets, and resource allocation for all Capex expansion, remodeling, and construction projects.
Establish clear project goals, milestones, deliverables, and success criteria.
Monitor project progress and provide regular reports to the Operations Manager and School Principal.
Identify potential risks, develop mitigation strategies, and ensure project continuity.
Health & Safety Compliance
Ensure all construction activities comply with Nord Anglia Education and Hamelin-Laie's Health and Safety policies and national regulations.
Implement and maintain effective risk assessments, safety plans, and safeguarding procedures for all projects.
Safeguarding & Compliance
Implement safeguarding best practices during all projects to ensure the safety and well-being of students and staff.
Maintain communication with relevant stakeholders to ensure compliance with school policies and procedures.
Ensure that contractors and suppliers are aware of, and adhere to, safeguarding expectations while on school premises.
Stakeholder Communication & Collaboration
Act as the primary point of contact between contractors, suppliers, school leadership, and other stakeholders.
Facilitate communication between the Operations Manager and various teams to ensure alignment and project success.
Provide regular updates and feedback to school leadership and staff on project progress and timelines.
Quality Assurance & Reporting
Ensure that all work carried out meets the school’s standards of quality, aesthetics, and functionality.
Develop and present comprehensive project reports, including financial and progress updates.
Conduct post-project evaluations to identify areas for improvement and document best practices for future projects.
Qualifications/Training
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering / Architecture or related.
Experience / Knowledge
Proven experience in project management, particularly in construction, remodeling, and expansion projects.
Strong knowledge of safeguarding, health and safety regulations, and risk management.
Excellent communication, organisational, and leadership skills.
Ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Proficient in project management software and tools.
Experience working in an educational setting.
Familiarity with local building codes and regulations.
Certification in Project Management (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2) or equivalent.
