About the Client

My client is the air transport industry's IT provider, delivering solutions for airlines, airports, aircraft, and governments. Their technology powers more seamless, safe, and sustainable air travel. An exciting opportunity to join a growing aviation technology business developing and delivering an advanced Operations Control Centre (OCC) disruption management solution.

The platform is delivered as a production SaaS solution supporting airline Operations Control Centres in managing disruption through proactive alerts and integrated recovery solutions across aircraft, crew and passengers.

With significant customer and pipeline growth, the technology environment is evolving rapidly as the platform scales across new airline customers and production deployments.

We are looking for a DevOps Engineer to help operate, maintain and evolve the AWS and Kubernetes platform underpinning the solution.

About the Role

You will be responsible for the reliability, scalability and ongoing evolution of a production Kubernetes platform running on AWS.

Working closely with software engineering and product teams, you will build and maintain infrastructure through Infrastructure as Code and GitOps practices, while also playing an active role in production support and incident response.

This is a hands-on role for someone who is comfortable operating production infrastructure and enjoys improving the way modern cloud platforms are deployed, monitored and supported.

Key Duties:

• Operate and evolve a production SaaS platform running on AWS and Kubernetes.

• Manage and maintain AWS infrastructure including EKS, RDS PostgreSQL, VPC and IAM.

• Build and maintain infrastructure using Terraform and Infrastructure as Code principles.

• Manage Kubernetes deployments using Helm.

• Implement and maintain GitOps-driven deployment processes using ArgoCD.

• Develop and maintain CI/CD workflows using GitHub Actions.

• Manage application and infrastructure secrets using HashiCorp Vault.

• Monitor and support production environments, responding to incidents and helping to restore services quickly and effectively.

• Investigate production issues across infrastructure, Kubernetes workloads and application services.

• Work closely with engineering teams to improve platform reliability, scalability, security and deployment processes.

• Contribute to infrastructure and platform changes through a PR-reviewed, GitOps-driven development model.

• Help evolve the platform as customer demand, workloads and operational requirements grow.

• Maintain clear documentation and operational processes around infrastructure, deployments and incident response.

What we are looking for

You are comfortable taking ownership of infrastructure and responding to real production issues, while also looking for ways to automate and improve the platform.

Essential Experience

• Strong commercial experience working with AWS.

• Hands-on experience with Amazon EKS and production Kubernetes environments.

• Strong understanding of AWS services including RDS PostgreSQL, VPC and IAM.

• Strong experience with Terraform and Infrastructure as Code.

• Practical experience with Kubernetes and Helm.

• Experience implementing or operating GitOps workflows, ideally using ArgoCD.

• Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions.

• Hands-on experience with HashiCorp Vault or comparable secretsmanagement technologies.

• Proven experience operating and supporting production Kubernetes platforms.

• Comfortable participating in incident response, troubleshooting issues and supporting production services.

• Experience working within PR-reviewed, version-controlled infrastructure environments.

• Strong understanding of modern DevOps and cloud engineering practices.

• Fluent English.

Desirable Experience

• Experience with Grafana-based observability, including Loki, Prometheus and/or OpenTelemetry. • Experience with service mesh technologies.

• Experience implementing Kubernetes cluster autoscaling.

• Experience with workflow orchestration platforms.

• Experience establishing VPN or private network connectivity between cloud environments and customer networks.

• Experience with cloud and Kubernetes security hardening.

• Python scripting or other programming experience for automation.

• Experience supporting SaaS platforms serving multiple customers.

• Spanish language skills.
