About The Role
We are looking for an experienced content designer to join our team. Content design is at the heart of our design process and you'll be working side-by-side with product designers, product managers, engineers, and user researchers to shape the future of business travel.
As a senior, you’ll be leading strategic content improvement projects across your tribe and squads. You're an ideal candidate if you're just as happy supporting the product strategy and setting standards you are crafting clear and concise interface copy and helpful error messages. You’ll do your best work in an environment that requires proactive and independent self-direction as much as collaboration and open communication.
What You Will Do
- Be the content lead for your squads and tribe and partner with multidisciplinary teams of product designers, product managers, user researchers, and engineers to build user-centered experiences and content.
- Distill highly complex problems and technical information into clear, simple, and accessible content that meets the needs of our users.
- End-to-end user journey and content mapping to understand pain points and define user needs.
- Build long-term strategic relationships with stakeholders to align on business and user needs.
- Influence decisions, deal with conflicting priorities, and remove blockers.
- Take responsibility for content quality, review the work of others to assure quality, and mentor content colleagues on their writing.
- Be responsible for defining, improving, and implementing efficient processes, collaborative ways of working, and content standards.
- Proactively gather data and insights to build strong evidence for content decisions and direction.
- Instigate and facilitate user research to gain a deep understanding of our users and define how our language and content will meet their needs.
- Lead and facilitate workshops, critiques, and collaboration sessions with stakeholders and peers.
- Effectively communicate content design decisions and rationale to product and design teams and stakeholders.
- Be a vocal and visible advocate for content design best practice and the value it brings to both the user and the business.
- Experience in owning content design projects and strategy for digital products.
- A proactive problem solver who is comfortable working in a fast-paced product team.
- A deep understanding of end-to-end journeys and how content is affected within these journeys.
- Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
- Professional English level with fluent proficiency in English grammar, vocabulary, and familiar with native UK or US English idioms and vernacular.
- A champion of accessible and inclusive content with deep understanding of why it’s important to put it the heart of our user experience.
- Experience in creating, embedding, and maintaining content standards, style guides, and tone of voice guidelines.
- Knowledgeable on latest technology, such as generative AI, and the role of content design in that space.
- Expert communicator of ideas, concepts, and rationale for content decisions to influence stakeholders and strategy.
- Comfortable influencing and conducting user research to improve the quality of content and user experience.
- Examples of how you achieved results on large or complex content design projects from start to finish.
- Passion and affinity for TravelPerk’s mission and values.
You’ll join a team of 30 Product Designers, Content Designers and Researchers, with multiple nationalities, backgrounds and personalities. You will be working in a highly collaborative environment where feedback, transparency, and support are at the core of what we do. We lean on each others strengths and we save competitiveness for the occasional after-work Pictionary game.
We value autonomy, proactivity, and creativity. We create time, space, and opportunities for you to think, experiment, and share ideas. And we firmly believe in prioritising impact over effort.
Your career and development are supported by our Competency Framework and regular development conversations. We offer a transparent career path - whether you will want to progress as an individual contributor or as a design manager.

People Projects & Insights Director - TravelPerk (Barcelona or London)
Re:work · Barcelona, ES
Agile LESS Office
Re:work partnering with TravelPerk to help build their People team. Headquartered in Barcelona with over 1,300 employees, they're a scaling unicorn with a vision to shape the future of business travel.
The world has changed, and so has the way that we work. Teams have become more distributed, shifting to remote or hybrid working models. It's now more important than ever to give them the flexibility and autonomy that allows them to do their best work.
The mission at TravelPerk is clear. They want to help to connect people in real life in the most enjoyable and sustainable way possible. 2023 was their best year ever, and revenue grew by more than 70%. They recently raised their Series D extension of $104m, bringing their valuation to $1.4 Billion. Their team is made up of A-players from across the travel and technology sectors. Join and help them shape an industry.
The challenge
TravelPerk has been investing heavily in its People team, and the foundations are strong. They’re now ready to take everything from good to great.
As they prepare for further growth, they want to level up their People strategy and move the team towards a more agile, product-driven function with a customer-centred approach. They're on a mission to work even smarter and faster to minimise effort across the employee lifecycle. Less clicks, assumptions, and complexity. More powerful insights and solutions.
This is where you'll come in. As their first People Projects & Insights Director, you'll lead a team of three focused on three pillars: People Improvement Projects, People Insights & Analytics, and People Tools & Systems. Reporting to their VP of People, is a permanent role with high visibility and huge potential to drive significant change.
You'll drive the engine of innovation across the People team with data-led solutions tailored around their unique business needs rather than traditional HR practices. You'll ask the tough questions and facilitate complex change projects. You'll act as a trusted advisor to your peers and the leadership team to anticipate and tackle the hard people challenges that come with growth.
What you'll be doing
People Improvement Projects:
- Developing a comprehensive understanding of business issues and how they translate into people strategy and leadership goals.
- Running complex diagnostic and improvement initiatives designed to improve the employee experience.
- Facilitating the wider team and acting as a hands-on program manager when needed to drive complex projects with a design thinking approach.
- Cultivating strong relationships with business leaders across a range of disciplines and geographies to understand problem spaces and create tailored solutions.
People Insights & Analytics:
- Defining and reporting on meaningful metrics to measure effectiveness and performance that are tailored to each organisation's needs.
- Providing strategic insights, data-driven recommendations, and thought leadership to the business to define organisational design and priorities.
- Thinking critically about organisational strategy and data and how you structure and communicate your ideas.
- Investing in the development of the People team to support the growth of their analytical skills.
People Tools & Systems:
- Managing the tech and systems required to support employee life today and for future growth.
- Evaluating, selecting, and streamlining the People tech stack to support the various needs across the business.
- Redefining current processes and implementing best practices using innovative and technology-led solutions.
What success looks like
- A 7-star employee experience. Clarity on the most impactful problems the People team should solve with a methodical project plan to facilitate change.
- Be an owner of solutions. Moving the business and people team away from any assumptions by identifying the most important insights.
- Impact over effort. Wide adoption of the people tools and dashboards needed to minimise the workload across the business.
Who are we looking for
This is not your typical People role, and we know the right person might not be very obvious on paper. We're open to different backgrounds as we're looking for more of a consultancy-style mindset mixed with the agility needed to deliver in a hyper-growth tech company - 1,000 to +3000 employees.
We'll need to see recent examples of identifying and solving the similar People challenges that come with scale across the three core pillars. Best-in-class strategy consulting or organisational management experience will be a huge plus. You'll need to be clearly passionate about improving the employee experience with examples to back up your obsession with simplicity.
We'll want this person to be naturally curious and have a track record of implementing ambitious and creative solutions with a product mindset. You'll need to have the gravitas to build relationships quickly at all levels, applying influence to deliver results without always having formal authority.
Strong project management and analytical skills will be critical for executive-level collaboration. They’re all about concise comms, so you’ll be someone who can make your point quickly backed with data. You won’t be precious about your level, and you’ll be happy to flex from Director to IC to be hands-on when needed.
Ultimately, you’ll be a good person, humble and not take yourself too seriously. You don’t need to be the loudest in the room, but people will need to love working with you to buy into your ideas.
Ways of working & Compensation
You can be based out of their London or Barcelona office. There’s a strong preference for Barcelona or someone based in London who can travel to the HQ once a month.
Their vision is for a world where TravelPerk serves as the platform for human connection in real life (IRL). They take an IRL-first approach to work, where their team works together in person three days a week. They fundamentally believe in the value of meeting in real life to improve connectivity, productivity, and creativity and ultimately make us a great place to work.
This role can sit at their Director or Senior Director band, and we’ll disclose more details on our first call as there’s some flexibility. They offer stock options, and here are some of their benefits:
💊 Health perks such as private healthcare or gym allowance, depending on your location;
🥳 Unforgettable TravelPerk events;
💙 A mental health support tool for your wellbeing;
📒 Exponential growth & personal development opportunities;
🫶 VolunteerPerk - 16 paid hours per year to volunteer for a cause of your choice;
🌎 "Work from anywhere" in the world allowance of 20 working days per year;
📚 IRL English or Spanish Lessons are held in the Barcelona office.
What is the interview process?
- You’ll start with an intro conversation with Mark from Re:work, who will be your main point of contact throughout the process.
- The first stage will be a 60-minute interview with Flick (your future manager) to go through your background and motivations.
- The 2nd stage will be a 60-minute interview with two peers.
- The 3rd stage will be a Case Study presentation to understand your approach to problem-solving across the three pillars.
- The final stage will be an on-site meeting at their Barcelona headquarters, where you'll have the opportunity to meet everyone in person and see their culture in action.
Ready to apply?
Great! Please apply through this job post rather than sending a message so we don’t miss your application. Please take the time to tailor your CV around the three pillars.
We’ll make sure to come back to you within 5 working days.
