Jumeirah Mallorca is located on a cliff and surrounded by pine forests looking over the fishing town of Port Soller. Its 121 spacious guestrooms and suites, all with private terrace or balcony, enjoy stunning views of the port, the Mediterranean Sea and the impressive Tramuntana mountain range; a UNESCO Heritage site. The hotel offers two restaurants, four bars, two swimming pools and a Talise Spa. The hotel is divided into eleven low-rise structures ensuring that visitors experience a truly exceptional and natural environment.

About The Role

An opportunity has arisen for an Intern position in our Housekeeping Department at Jumeirah Mallorca.

The Main Duties And Responsibilities Of This Role

  • Oversee, train, and evaluate the performance of assigned housekeepers, departmental trainers and house attendants ensuring that all procedures are completed to the hotel's standards. Provide lateral service where necessary in order to ensure the finest service to guests.
  • Verify status on room reports, determine discrepant rooms, prioritize and update status of departing guestrooms.
  • Ensure that employees comply and abide by the employee standards of conduct at all times.
  • Inspect supply levels, cleanliness and organization of floor closets and assign designated employees to rectify any deficiencies.
  • Ensure that cleanliness and condition of each area meets designated hotel standards and the appropriate inspections are carried out on a consistent basis.
  • Accommodate guest requests for Housekeeping items or additional supplies expediently and courteously. Follow up on delivery and return of all such items with appropriate employees.
  • Monitor and handle any guest complaints and ensure guest satisfaction.
  • Break of the house learning as a Supervisor.
  • Handling complaints and lead investigations when needed.
  • Learning to Lead afternoon shift supervisor role and executing the daily handover for the next day.
  • Leading the daily briefing with your room attendants.

About You

The ideal candidate for this position will have the following experience and qualifications:

Qualification

  • Studies related to hospitality

Experience

  • Supervisor experience is a strength

Skills

  • Excellent level of English and Intermediate Spanish
  • Friendly, approachable and professional
  • Ability to maintain hotel's standards, policies and procedures with assigned staff.
  • Ability to prioritize and organize work in addition to delegating work to appropriate individuals.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of hotel guests and pertinent hotel information and convey the same sense of confidentiality to all employees.
  • Ability to endure abundant physical movements in carrying out certain job functions when the situation permits.
