In your role as developer / data engineer, you will get to work first-hand on building and managing the data infrastructure that is at the heart of many of our energy and trading processes. Building on your extensive technical experience and your can-do attitude, you will be directly responsible for shaping and transforming our data landscape. What you will do:
- Develop and operationalize performant, high-available and scalable services to provide accessible and quality data products Axpo internally.
- Define, implement and maintain performant data models as well as robust and scalable storage solutions.
- Establish and implement methods and tooling to improve overall data quality and lineage capabilities.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to understand their data needs, ensuring alignment with business objectives and providing data-driven solutions.
- Collaborate with our internal infrastructure team on cloud solutions, specifically build and maintain IaaS tasks.
- Translate business requirements into technical specifications, develop solutions, and ensure their cost-effectiveness and sustainability.

What you bring & who you are:
- You are a competent developer (5-7 years experience) with extensive practical knowledge in one or more widely adopted programming languages (Python, C#, Java or similar).
- You have worked with Cloud infrastructure and services (preferably Azure) and ideally have demonstrated hands-on experience with Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines as well as broader DevOps practices.
- You have a working knowledge of database technologies (preferably PostgreSQL).
- You bring practical experience with workflow orchestration tools such as Apache Airflow, Prefect or similar, ensuring the efficient scheduling and monitoring of data workflows.
- Being a hands-on problem solver, complex problem analysis and solution-design thinking are among your core strengths.
- You bring strong communication skills and can adapt to, manage and influence a variety of business & IT stakeholders.
- You are proficient in English; Spanish is a plus.
- Preferred: deep understanding of the energy and/or trading industry.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Develop and maintain the application Security Firewall Audit

• Understand functional user stories and translate them to a technical solution

• Maintain documentation up to date
• Help users with the use of the application

REQUIREMENTS

- Studies - Master Degree or Equivalent

- Experience - At least 3 years

- Languages - Very good use of English (written/spoken).
- French speaking will be appreciated.

- Development of APIs / Web services exposed with a swagger
- Writing unit tests and integration tests
- Code reviews in pairs

Senior Python Developer (100 percent Remote from Spain)

To support their continued growth Visualfabriq is expanding the engineering team in Spain. All roles are fully remote. Candidates will be employed directly by Visualfabriq Spain under a Spanish contract.
The role
As a senior developer you will join one of Visualfabriq’s product teams and take ownership of key backend components. You will help make architectural decisions and support colleagues in building scalable maintainable software. The teams are compact and each one owns its own part of the platform.
Visualfabriq is a product company. The software is developed and maintained in house with long term focus. They are not looking for temporary contributors or consultants. You will work on systems that matter and stay in use for years to come.

What you will do
• Design and build backend services in Python that handle high volumes of data
• Contribute to architecture sessions and technical discussions
• Lead code reviews and support mid-level engineers in their development
• Improve test coverage delivery processes and code quality
• Work together with other backend teams frontend developers and product owners
• Use technologies such as AWS Docker CloudFormation and modern CI pipelines
What Visualfabriq is looking for
• At least five years of experience in backend development
• Proficiency in Python and experience with distributed systems
• Comfortable with NoSQL databases and performance driven design
• Background in product development and long term code ownership
• A proactive mindset and ability to take initiative
• Fluent in English and based in Spain with valid work eligibility
