Postdoctoral researcher at the nanoprobes and nanoswitches group Join to apply for the Postdoctoral researcher at the nanoprobes and nanoswitches group role at IBEC's Core Facilities Introduction to the Vacant Position The nanoprobes and nanoswitches group is seeking a postdoctoral researcher to develop projects related to neural circuit investigation and therapeutic applications of photoswitchable compounds.

The contract involves characterizing the efficacy and safety of small molecules in vitro and in vivo, their dependence on illumination, and their applications in studying neural circuits, including sensory circuits.

Main Tasks and Responsibilities * Conduct in vitro and in vivo electrophysiological experiments * Perform in vivo behavioral assays * Carry out in vitro cellular assays, including fluorescence imaging and high throughput characterization * Supervise students * Disseminate research findings Essential Requirements for Candidates * MSc and/or PhD in vision science * BSc in biotechnology * Publications in vision science * Experience with photoswitchable drugs characterization * Skills: Communication, teamwork, commitment, proactivity, integrity, critical and analytical thinking * Proficiency in English Advantageous Skills * Experience with high throughput assays, data analysis, molecular biology, image analysis What We Offer * One position available * Start date: January 2025 * Full-time, 1-year contract * Work-life balance measures (parental leave, flexible hours, paid holidays, personal leave) * Opportunities for professional development and interdisciplinary research environment * Support for visa and relocation to Barcelona Application Process Apply online via IBEC careers site by December 8th.
