What You'll Do:
As a Marketing Intern, your key area of responsibility will be collaborating with the regional marketing team and external agencies to support business growth across events, content, digital, and PR. Your day-to-day may include: developing content briefs, managing data for lead capture, auditing databases for accuracy, and assisting with the scheduling and analysis of social media and email marketing campaigns. You will work closely with the Sales team to improve the digital presence of our Partners through co-marketing programs while maintaining internal documentation and the departmental Wiki. To be successful in this role, you will need to be a motivated individual with excellent French and English communication skills and the ability to quickly understand complex, technical concepts. In addition, the successful candidate will be a proactive problem-solver with strong Google Suite skills, capable of managing multiple projects and priorities to ensure timely, high-impact results.
The Opportunity:
- 12-month work-term beginning May 2026.
- Full-time, paid internship: Monday - Friday.

As a data scientist you will:
Proactively take end-to-end ownership of the design and delivery of ML products across multiple departments within the bank. This includes a broad range of AI/ML solutions such as credit risk and decision-making models, churn prediction, recommendation systems, NLP solutions, income and expense estimation, data categorisation, clustering and segmentation, pricing models, OCR, and more.

Estem interessats a incorporar un/a licenciat/ada en Bioquímica, Biotecnologia o similar, amb màster en l’àmbit de la recerca biomèdica traslacional, per donar suport al projecte “UNICAS. Implementation of a Pediatric Network for Personalised Medicine in Rare Pediatric Diseases. A Pilot Project”.
L’objectiu últim de la medicina pediàtrica de precisió és estratificar els nens afectats per malalties per millorar el diagnòstic i els tractaments mèdics. Els investigadors translacionals estan aportant quantitats cada vegada més grans de dades clíniques heterogènies i informació científica per crear estratègies de classificació que permetin adequar la intervenció als mecanismes subjacents de la malaltia en subgrups de pacients.
La majoria de les malalties genètiques pediàtriques —com els trastorns del neurodesenvolupament, les malalties metabòliques hereditàries, els trastorns neuromusculars, les epilèpsies i altres afeccions monogèniques ultrarares— són causes importants de mort i discapacitat infantil a Espanya i a tot el món.
Objectius principals del projecte
- Establiment d'una Xarxa de Recerca Pediàtrica en Malalties Rares per a la Medicina de Precisió a Espanya.
- Aplicació d'estàndards d'Història Clínica Electrònica mitjançant la introducció d'un "conjunt mínim de dades clíniques" en quatre grups de malalties per obtenir un conjunt d'estàndards comuns de dades clíniques que es pretenen incloure a les RER, CSUR i CIBER.
- Implementació d'eines comunes entre unitats pediàtriques i desplegament de "Casos d'Ús" per a IMPaCT-Data i IMPaCT-Genomics.
- Aplicació d'eines automatitzades per analitzar i compartir informació genòmica de nens amb malalties rares i la interacció amb IMPaCT-Genomics.
La persona contractada s’incorporarà al laboratori de Bioquímica en connexió amb la Direcció de Estrategia Digital i Dades, i participarà activament en el Work Package 4 (WP4) del projecte, així com en tasques relacionades amb la validació i estandardització de dades del laboratori clínic.
Les seves funcions principals inclouran:
- Interpretar dades genòmiques a través de l’anàlisi de biomarcadors (genòmica funcional) relacionats amb variants genètiques de significat incert.
- Validar l’estandardització de dades procedents del laboratori clínic i participar en proves de concepte relacionades amb la interfície i codificació LOINC del conjunt mínim de dades.
- Integrar i correlacionar dades bioquímiques i genòmiques, i col·laboració multidisciplinària entre laboratoris clínics i unitats de genòmica, per millorar el procés diagnòstic en malalties rares pediàtriques.
- Donar suport als investigadors i especialistes clínics en la interpretació dels resultats i l’harmonització de les dades.
- Assegurar la qualitat i traçabilitat de les dades de laboratori, contribuint al desenvolupament d’un sistema interoperable dins del Projecte Pilot UNICAS.
- Participar en reunions de coordinació i en la preparació d’informes tècnics o científics derivats de l’activitat del projecte.
Formació:
- Llicenciatura o grau en Bioquímica, Biotecnologia o similar.
- Màster en Recerca Biomèdica Traslacional o equivalent.
- Experiència demostrable en laboratori bioquímic-clínic, preferiblement dedicat al diagnòstic de malalties rares.
- Experiència en anàlisi de biomarcadors bioquímics que permetin validar o complementar variants genètiques de significat incert.
- Ús habitual de programes informàtics de laboratori i de gestió de resultats clínics.
- Coneixement d’estàndards LOINC, OMOP, SNOMED i d’altres models d’interoperabilitat clínica.
- Familiaritat amb entorns de computació en núvol (AWS, Azure) i eines de IA, machine learning o NLP aplicades a l’anàlisi de dades biomèdiques.
- Capacitat per treballar de manera autònoma i en equip.
- Proactivitat i adaptabilitat en un entorn en constant canvi.

L'objectiu últim de la medicina pediàtrica de precisió és estratificar els nens afectats per malalties per millorar el diagnòstic i els tractaments mèdics.
Els investigadors translacionals estan aportant quantitats cada vegada més grans de dades clíniques heterogenies i informació científica per crear estratègies de classificació que permetin adequar la intervenció als mecanismes subjacents de la malaltia en subgrups de pacients.
La majoria de les malalties genètiques pediàtriques, com els trastorns del neurodesenvolupament, les malalties metabòliques hereditàries, els trastorns neuromusculars, les epilèpsies i altres afeccions monogèniques ultrarares, són causes importants de mort i discapacitat infantil a Espanya i a tot el món.
Els objectius principals d'aquest projecte són:
1- Establiment d'una Xarxa de Recerca Pediàtrica en Malalties Rares per a la Medicina de Precisió a Espanya;
2- Aplicació d'estàndards d'Història Clínica Electrònica mitjançant la introducció d'un "conjunt mínim de dades clíniques" en quatre grups de malalties per obtenir un conjunt d'estàndards comuns de dades clíniques que es pretenen incloure a les RER, CSUR i CIBER;
3- Implementació d'eines comunes entre unitats pediàtriques i desplegament de "Casos d'Ús" per a IMPaCT-Data i IMPaCT-Genomics.
4- Aplicació d'eines automatitzades per analitzar i compartir la informació genòmica de nens amb malalties rares i la interacció amb IMPaCT-Genomics.
El projecte desplegarà una plataforma federada de dades seguint les directrius, la documentació i els demostradors desenvolupats per IMPaCT-Data.
Aquest projecte pilot pretén donar el tret de sortida de la Xarxa, estructurar les seves bases mínimes aprofitant les dades fenotípiques i genòmiques existents en 300 pacients i realitzar estudis genòmics i anàlisis fenotípics estructurats com a estudi pilot en altres 200 pacients amb quatre grups de patologies.
Les funcions de la persona contractada seran les següents:
- Validar les diferents codificacions i assegurar que segueixen els estàndards necessaris per conformar una base de dades OMOP.
- Fer proves de concepte per facilitar la codificació mitjançant el processament del llenguatge natural (NLP)
- Definir i validar, conjuntament amb els investigadors, els conjunts de dades necessaris per a la correcta execució del projecte, així com la seva explotació, visualització i la creació d’entorns de consum de dades amigables i efectius segons els requisits dels usuaris (UX).
- Realitzar anàlisis de dades automatitzades i assegurar-se que es compleixen els estàndards d’interoperabilitat utilitzats en el projecte.
- Analitzar i extreure informació rellevant de grans volums de dades.
- Planificar, crear i gestionar bases de dades complexes.
- Donar suport als investigadors i especialistes clínics del projecte, així com assistir a les reunions requerides.
Requisits
- Estar en possessió del títol d’Enginyeria Biomèdica, Ciència de Dades o experiència equivalent.
- Llenguatges de programació (R, Python o similar).
- Bases de dades (SQL).
- Eines de visualització (Tableau, Power BI o similar).
- Entorns de computació en núvol, com AWS o Azure.
- Aplicació d'intel·ligència artificial, machine learning, IA generativa i eines de NLP en l'anàlisi de dades i en la presa de decisions basades en dades.
- Capacitat per treballar de manera autònoma i en equip.
- Proactivitat i adaptabilitat en un entorn en constant canvi.

Who are we looking for?
We are looking for a Machine Learning / AI Engineer, working close to one of our main clients in banking sector.
Main tasks and accountabilities will be:
- Develop, deploy, and optimize machine learning and AI solutions that address complex business challenges
- Create multi-agent systems and equip AI models with function/tool-calling capabilities
- Design and implement RAG systems to ground AI responses in enterprise data
- Assess and integrate AI models (e.g. LLMs) ensuring optimal performance and reliability
- Optimize agentic workflows and AI agents for production use cases
- Testing and optimizing system prompts and few-shot example to ensure accurate , consistent, and safe AI outputs
- Performance evaluation of machine learning and AI models using appropriate metrics, evaluation sets and techniques, and continuously iterate and improve upon them
- Collaborate with platform teams, data engineers, data scientists, and other stakeholders to integrate machine learning solutions into existing systems and processes
- Participate in code reviews, testing, and debugging to ensure the quality and reliability of machine learning solutions
What UST expects from you?
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field
- Strong programming skills in Python with experience in machine learning libraries and deep learning frameworks such as TensorFlow or PyTorch
- Proven experience working with Large Language Models (LLMs)
- Good understanding of AI agents & agentic workflows, LLM orchestration frameworks and reasoning patterns
- Experience with data preprocessing, feature engineering, and model selection and evaluation techniques
- Knowledge of statistical and mathematical concepts relevant to machine learning, such as probability, linear algebra, and optimization
- Understanding software development best practices, including version control, testing, and documentation
- Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills, with the ability to identify and resolve issues quickly and effectively
- Relevant work experience in machine learning, data science or a related field
- Good english level (C1) you will be working with international teams.

📌¿Cuál sería tu misión?
- Diseñar, entrenar y optimizar modelos de Machine Learning en Python.
- Construir pipelines de entrenamiento, validación y despliegue en Azure.

- Desplegar modelos en entornos productivos usando Azure ML, Docker y Kubernetes.
