We´re expanding our team at Alén Space, and are looking for a Junior Space Satellite Operations Engineer; with passion in what you do, talented and experienced; to be involved in the design, preparation, and execution of operations for satellites and payloads. This will include working with the actual satellites and payloads, preparing procedures and telecommand batches, planning operations, and performing telemetry analysis. They will also collaborate closely with the on-board and mission control software teams to define user and operational requirements, as well as participate in software and system-level test campaigns.
What you will be doing?
- Ongoing monitoring and operations planning for in-orbit LEO satellites and payloads.
- Design and preparation of operations for various missions.
- Preparation of procedures and sequences for satellite platforms and payloads.
- Telemetry analysis to monitor the health of constellations, satellites, payloads, etc.
- Preparation and execution of LEOP (Launch and Early Orbit Phase) and commissioning campaigns.
- Preparation and execution of routine and contingency operations.
- Support for final on-ground testing of satellites.
- Collaboration with the software team to develop and test new tools.
- Evolution of satellite operation manuals and procedures.
- Collaboration with the systems engineering team for new mission design and platform evolution.
- Interaction with customers and other stakeholders such as launch providers and ground station networks.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Aerospace, Telecommunication, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or an equivalent technical degree.
- Knowledge of common spacecraft architecture and subsystems.
- Some experience in LEO small satellite operations, design, and/or AIV.
- Knowledge of STK (Systems Tool Kit).
- Experience with Python or other scripting languages.
- Ability to stay calm under pressure (real-time/console operations).
- Methodical and comfortable following established procedures.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work autonomously and effectively while collaborating in a potentially international and culturally diverse team.
- Good analytical, organizational, and reporting skills, with a proactive approach to problem-solving and an interest in technology development.
- Experience with cubesat platforms and/or subsystems.
- Experience with ECSS Packet Utilization Standard services.
- Knowledge of ECSS and/or CCSDS standards.

As a Data Scientist in the Wallapop you will be working on the Data Science initiatives aimed at improving the whole marketplace dynamics.
You will work closely with other Data Scientists, Product Managers, Engineers, UX Researchers, and Analysts to understand the product requirements and explore possible data and ML solutions. You will own the whole product lifecycle, from gathering the data needed to prototyping, building, evaluating, and iterating end-to-end solutions, all within Wallapop´s Data Platforms.
Additionally, you will have the opportunity to work on internal research projects, exploring new technologies and building PoCs that could ultimately become data products or insights, and be valuable for Wallapop.
What You Will Do
- Collect, clean, and analyze large datasets from diverse sources, including user behavior, transactions, and market trends.
- Develop and implement machine learning models to solve business problems, such as personalized recommendations, fraud detection, and pricing optimization.
- Work with multidisciplinary Product teams to identify opportunities and gather requirements (both in terms of product and tech).
- Own initiatives from start to deployment: ideation, data processing (ETL), modeling, testing, deployment, monitoring and iteration (w/ help from Engineering partners)
- Proactively suggest, research and prototype new ideas for data and ML solutions.
- Communicate complex data insights to both technical and non-technical audiences, including stakeholders involved in marketplace operations.
What We´re Looking For
- Bachelor or MsC degree in engineering, mathematics, statistics, physics, or another quantitative field.
- Strong coding skills (Python is a must, but other languages are also valued), capable of building robust data and ML software.
- Experience building complex data products and ML solutions to real-life problems in a production-oriented environment, identifying the right techniques to solve the problem at hand.
- Experience with common libraries and frameworks such as Pandas, Numpy, Scikit-learn, TensorFlow, Keras, PyTorch.
- Advanced in SQL, capable of getting the data required from the appropriate sources, and building and maintaining data pipelines if needed (experience in tools such as Airflow or DBT would be a plus).
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain data insights to business stakeholders in the context of marketplace dynamics.
What Would Be A Plus
- Experience working with Search & Ranking models in production environments

We are looking for candidates who meet these requirements:
- Significant knowledge of major cybersecurity concepts, technologies, and standard methods with willingness to explore new areas
- Deep expertise in several cybersecurity areas including network and application security, identity and access management, and modern authentication protocols
- Understanding of DevSecOps practices, including usage of tools like Jira, Confluence, and Azure DevOps
- Hands-on experience in public cloud providers: AWS, Azure, Google, Alibaba.
- Experience in automation, coding and/or scripting using languages such as TypeScript, JavaScript, Bash, Golang, Python, Perl, Terraform or similar
- Familiarity with the implications of security standards in regulated environments
- Excellent communication skills with fluency in English, both spoken and written
These are additional nice to haves:
- Palantir software and/or services.
- Professional certifications such as Microsoft, CISSP, CCSP, SANS GIAC or similar qualifications
- German or Chinese language skills
- Experience with endpoint or mobile security solutions
- Knowledge of Microsoft Workplace and Office products in enterprise-grade configurations
For Spain, the base salary range for this position is between EUR 42,000 and EUR 70,000 (for a full-time role). The specific salary offered considers:
- the requirements, scope, complexity and responsibilities of the role,
- the applicant´s own profile including education/qualifications, expertise, specialisation, skills and experience.
