For the International Purchasing Department of ALTEN we are seeking a Purchasing Specialist for Travel to join our team in Barcelona.
Your new role:
You will play a pivotal role in overseeing and facilitating the implementation of the unification of travel project while ensuring long-term support for all travelers within International 1 (Sweden, Finland, Denmark, Switzerland, Benelux, Spain, Italy and Portugal) and you will be reporting to the Purchasing Managers International 1.
The primary objective of this role is to ensure a seamless and optimal user experience for all employees, establish unified travel policies, and leverage purchasing power effectively.
Your responsibilities:
1. Travel Project Oversight and Assistance:
- Analyze the existing models and strategize for the adoption of a unified self-booking tool and associated policies across all International 1.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to drive the implementation of the self-booking project, ensuring adherence to timelines and budgetary constraints.
- Provide guidance and support to users during the transition phase, addressing concerns and facilitating training sessions as needed.
- Monitor the effectiveness of the self-booking tool, gather feedback, and implement improvements to enhance user experience.
2. Long-Term Travel Support and Strategic Planning:
- Transition into the role of team lead for the Travel team International 1, taking ownership of all travel-related initiatives and processes.
- Negotiate hotel agreements and other travel-related contracts to optimize cost savings and service quality.
- Periodically review and update travel policies in alignment with organizational objectives and industry best practices.
- Act as the primary point of contact for travel supplier, managing vendor relationships and escalations effectively.
- Conduct thorough travel report analysis to identify trends, optimize travel expenditure, and provide actionable insights to stakeholders.
- Provide ongoing support to all International 1 travelers, addressing booking issues, resolving conflicts, and ensuring compliance with travel policies.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate travel requirements into broader strategic initiatives.
Your profile:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
- Proven experience in international purchasing, travel management, or related roles.
- Fluency in English; additional EU languages are a plus (Spanish, Italian, French).
- Strong understanding of travel related subject.
- Excellent negotiation skills with the ability to drive favorable agreements with vendors.
- Analytical mindset with proficiency in data analysis and reporting.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across -diverse teams and cultures.
- Proactive attitude with the ability to thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

Responsabilities:

- Knowledge of design software (e.g. AutoCad)

- Execute the project within the agreed scope, planning and budget
- Guarantee alignment of the process and technological development
- Assure that all process and operations related aspects are covered
