A rare founding commercial seat on a new data centre platform, backed by an established developer with serious capital, land and power already in place.
The Opportunity
My client is launching a data centre platform in Southern Europe, anchored by a flagship campus in excess of 100 MW with grid connection secured and construction underway. The platform is backed by a group with a long and successful track record in large-scale development, and the ambition goes well beyond the first site.
They are now hiring a Head of Commercial to build the go-to-market from the ground up. You will sit alongside the engineering and delivery leadership, shape the product commercially, and own the leasing of the platform's capacity to hyperscale, AI cloud and wholesale customers.
What you will do
- Define the commercial strategy and product offering, from powered shell through to turnkey, aligned with the design and delivery teams
- Originate, negotiate and close capacity deals with hyperscale and wholesale tenants, including anchor tenant transactions
- Own pricing, lease structuring and commercial terms across take-or-pay, ramp profiles, SLAs and expansion rights
- Build and manage relationships with the broker, advisor and hyperscaler procurement community across Europe
- Feed market and customer requirements back into site design and platform strategy
- Represent the platform in the market and at industry events as its commercial face
Who you are
- A proven data centre commercial operator, likely at Director or Senior Director level, ready to step up into a platform-defining role
- Experienced across both colocation and hyperscale, whether selling wholesale capacity to hyperscalers, negotiating from the buyer side, or advising on major capacity transactions
- Able to point to specific deals: megawatts leased, counterparties engaged, structures personally negotiated
- Fluent in Spanish and English, based in or open to Madrid, with regular travel to site
- Ambitious, entrepreneurial and comfortable building without a playbook

You will shape the product, land the deals that define the platform, and grow with it as the pipeline expands. Compensation is competitive, with a package designed to reward platform success.
