The Role

• Lead operations and development teams for high-availability AWS services
• Oversee the launch of the European Sovereign Cloud (ESC) in 2025
• Collaborate with global AWS teams and influence service evolution
• Contribute to enhancing availability, reliability, latency, performance, and efficiency of ESC
• Participate in on-call rotations to resolve incidents
  
  

• National of an EU member state and residing in the EU
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent industry experience
• Proficiency in scripting (Bash, Python, Ruby) or software development (Java, TypeScript)
• Strong knowledge of Linux and networking fundamentals
• Experience with 24x7 high-availability, distributed software applications (preferred)

The Role

• Build and lead operations and development teams for high-availability AWS services
• Oversee the launch of the European Sovereign Cloud (ESC) in 2025
• Collaborate with global AWS teams and influence service evolution
• Enhance day-to-day operations to improve availability, reliability, latency, performance, and efficiency of ESC
• Participate in on-call rotations to resolve incidents
• Deliver scalable services and ensure a high-availability experience for EU customers
  
  

• Fluency in written and spoken English
• National of an EU member state and residing in the EU
• Expertise in systems engineering (hardware, software, networking, operating systems)
• Experience scripting processes in Bash, Python, or Ruby
• Solid understanding of Linux and networking for troubleshooting
• Able to create, revise, and improve standard operational procedures (SOPs)
