The Role
We are seeking a motivated and technically strong Innovation Manager to drive and coordinate innovation initiatives and R&D programs within our organization. You will work at the intersection of research, engineering, and external collaboration, contributing to the development and execution of innovation projects from concept through validation and early deployment. The ideal candidate combines deep technical expertise with a strong interest in innovation strategy, technology scouting, and structured execution of R&D initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate innovation initiatives on different topics from idea definition to technical validation and reporting.
- Work closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams across Engineering and Physics topics.
- Define and manage program roadmaps, milestones, risk mitigation plans, and stakeholder communications.
- Coordinate with external partners, suppliers, and certification bodies to ensure program objectives and compliance requirements are met.
- Oversee documentation, budgeting, reporting, and program governance activities.
- Contribute to technology scouting and assessment of emerging technologies aligned with company strategy.
- Ensure technical feasibility and validate results in close collaboration with engineers and researchers.
- Contribute to innovation strategy and technology scouting in alignment with market trends.
- PhD or master’s degree in Physics, Engineering, or related disciplines.
- Strong technical background in electronics, or semiconductor-related technologies.
- Experience in experimental research or device/system development.
- Demonstrated ability to coordinate research activities and manage multiple workstreams.
- Experience with technology transfer, prototyping, and early-stage product innovation.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
- Fluent in English; Spanish and Catalan are a plus.
- Experience with European-funded R&D projects (Horizon Europe or similar).
- Exposure to technology assessment or scouting, and innovation analysis.
- Knowledge of neuromorphic computing, AI, or emerging technologies.
- Knowledge of Agile or other project management methodologies

The Role
We are looking for an enthusiastic intern to transform our FPGA run outputs into clear insights and simple predictive tools. You will work on structuring results, visualizing trends, and training a first surrogate performance models to guide design-space exploration. This role provides a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in data engineering for HW/SW co-design, experiment analytics, and modeling to inform next steps in the design process.
Expected duration: 3 to 5 months. It is an internship role.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the research of tools and methods to organize logs, traces, and metrics into a clean, reusable dataset.
- Support the definition of a consistent schema for hardware configs, workloads, and software schedules.
- Assist in building visualization tools to enable the latency, throughput, and resource use.
- Train and evaluate:e simple surrogate models (e.g., Random Forest / Gradient Boosting, neural networks) to predict performance.
- Collaborate with team members to interpret findings, explain trade-offs, and propose next experiments.
- Knowledge of at least one general programming language like Python and data analysis libraries (pandas, numpy).
- Familiarity with plotting libraries (matplotlib or plotly) to create clear, publication-quality figures.
- Understanding of regression/classification concepts and validation (train/val split, MAE/MAPE).
- Data preprocessing techniques to train ML models.
- Experience with Deep Learining libraries like Tensorflow, Keras and/or Pytorch.
- Experience building small dashboards (Streamlit or Plotly Dash) or well-documented Jupyter notebooks.
- Prior experience working on AI/ML projects.
- Exposure to performance data or benchmarking workflows.
- Comfort with git/GitHub and writing concise READMEs.
- Experience/awareness of machine learning compilation and modeling frameworks such as TVM.

The role contributes to research and development activities involving photonic integrated circuits (PICs), AI accelerator integration, and advanced thermal management.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct and support feasibility studies for optical interconnects, photonic integration, and advanced thermal management technologies.
- Participate in the development of early-stage photonic prototypes and experimental setups.
- Assist in benchmarking optical and thermal performance of integrated photonic systems.
- Contribute to research on data acquisition and signal processing within photonic and AI-enabled architectures.
- Prepare and organize technical documentation, reports, and materials related to ongoing research.
- Currently pursuing a BSc or MSc in Photonics, Electrical Engineering, Physics, or a related field.
- Basic understanding of optical interconnects, photonic ICs, advanced thermal management, or integrated optics.
- Experience with simulation tools such as COMSOL or MATLAB is a plus.
