Job description:
We are seeking a bioinformatician to join the Cancer Genomics Lab at VHIO. The scope of the work will be mostly linked to the analysis of genomic data in the context of cancer patients. The successful applicant should be able to work in a team as well as independently and in several projects, be proactive and motivated.
Requirements:
- Bioinformatician with knowledge/ experience in Genomics and Cancer (+2yrs).
- Familiar with raw sequencing data (FASTQ) as well as other common formats (SAM/BAM, BED, etc.), command-line tools (bwa, samtools, bedtools, etc.) and biological databases (cBioportal, COSMIC…).
- Fluency in R and/ or Python.
- Proficiency in English.
- Knowledge of statistical modelling or machine learning will be considered a plus.
- Knowledge in database management systems (such as MySQL, mongoDB or noSQL).
- Experience in Docker and/ or Slurm.

Vall d´Hebron Institute of Oncology (VHIO) is a leading cancer research center associated with Vall d’Hebron University Hospital that integrates translational and clinical research to tackle the most pressing challenges in cancer research and patient care. VHIO is now accepting applications for a Junior Group Leader position. We seek applications from outstanding early-career investigators eager to establish an independent research laboratory in computational cancer research oriented to understanding mechanisms of disease and generating insights for clinical translation in oncology. Applicants should have a PhD or MD/PhD degree, demonstrate a strong track-record of publications during their postdoc, and proven capacity to attract competitive funding.
This position is targeted to candidates fulfilling the R3 – Established Researcher profile, including researchers transitioning to scientific independence as well as independent researchers in consolidation phases, in accordance with the European Commission research career framework.
The successful candidate will be provided with laboratory space, a competitive start-up package, and access to state-of-the-art core units and facilities to develop their research proposal. They will be expected to work within a highly collaborative and interdisciplinary environment, in close interaction with clinical researchers within the context of our transversal taskforces.
Applicants should include (1) a full CV, (2) letter of intent, (3) brief (3-page max) research proposal, and (4) the names of at least two references.
Expressions of interest will be immediately reviewed by the VHIO’s Internal Scientific Committee.

Descripción de la oferta:
En VHIO buscamos un/a Técnico/a de Gestión de Laboratorio y Equipamiento Científico para garantizar la correcta gestión técnica del equipamiento científico de investigación biomédica y asistencial. Tu labor será esencial para asegurar un entorno funcional y eficiente, supervisar proveedores y servicios externos, controlar la documentación y el presupuesto, además de resolver incidencias críticas.
- Coordinar reuniones de seguimiento con gestores de contratos y planificar actuaciones clave según las necesidades del centro.
- Planificar y gestionar el mantenimiento preventivo, correctivo y conductivo del equipamiento científico básico.
- Gestionar incidencias críticas y asegurar el correcto funcionamiento del equipamiento y de los espacios asociados.
- Supervisar y coordinar al personal subcontratado, tanto recurrente como puntual.
- Controlar la documentación y la gestión económica de los proveedores.
- Elaborar informes de seguimiento sobre contratos, equipamientos y servicios.
- Proponer mejoras en los procesos diarios para optimizar recursos y eficiencia.
- Apoyar en licitaciones y en la redacción de pliegos técnicos.
- Mantener la gestión documental de equipamientos y espacios, incluyendo políticas de uso, protocolos de actuación y formaciones.
- Impartir formaciones periódicas al personal investigador sobre equipos y espacios.
- Garantizar la disponibilidad de la documentación requerida para auditorías internas y externas.
- Actuar como interlocutor/a entre los grupos de investigación y los servicios del centro.
- Titulación: Ciclo Formativo de Grado Medio o Superior, Título universitario en Biociencias o áreas afines.
- Dominio de herramientas ofimáticas, especialmente Excel y Microsoft Office.
- Experiencia mínima de un año en un puesto similar.
- Se valorará experiencia previa en centros sanitarios o de investigación.
- Se valorará también tener experiencia en: microscopía, sistemas de imagen, sistemas de PCR, lectores de placas, manejo de salas de cultivo y preservación de muestras.
