We are looking for an exceptional Senior Backend Developer (GOlang) to join our growing Engine team. The Engine team develops and maintains most things related to Workato Recipe runtime. Everything related to recipe execution: DSL, pulling events, processing webhooks, executing jobs. There are various aspects to it: performance, scaling, storage, durability, atomicity, concurrency guarantees, data protection, and encryption.
- Build/extend/troubleshot/fix complex heterogeneous GOlang applications, as well as small self-contained GOlang microservices.
- Improve execution engine of custom third-party code (isolation, performance, new features).
- Write well designed, testable, efficient code in GOlang.
- Integration of data storage solutions Postgres/S3/DynamoDB/Kafka/ClickHouse etc.
- Contribute in all phases of the development lifecycle.
- Provide code reviews to your teammates.
- Evaluate and propose improvements to existing system.
- Identify bottlenecks and bugs, and devise solutions to these problems.
- Help maintain code quality, organization and automatization.

Requirements
Qualifications / Experience / Technical Skills
- Strong experience in building scalable distributed backend applications (7+ years).
- Great understanding of all building blocks of large web applications: databases, load balancers, application servers, message brokers, caching, monitoring, etc.
- Good understanding of network protocols and stacks.
- Good understanding of DB technologies: classic databases and modern no-SQL.
- Knowledge of basic data structures and algorithms and how they are used is a must.
- Excellent debugging, analytical, problem solving, and social skills.
- BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related subject, 7+ years of industry experience.

Can be a plus
- Experience in related fields (DevOps, ML, DBA, Enterprise applications, etc).
- Experience in building/deploying data processing pipelines.
Soft Skills / Personal Characteristics
- Readiness to work remotely with teams distributed across the world and timezones.

Responsibilities

We are looking for a Senior AI Engineer to play a key role in building the core of our AI platform. In this position, you will design and develop production-grade systems that power intelligent automation, agentic workflows, and large-scale retrieval services. This is a highly technical, hands-on role that involves close collaboration with product and platform teams to transform advanced AI concepts into reliable, scalable, and secure solutions used across our enterprise ecosystem You will also be responsible to:
- Design, build, and enhance AI services and APIs powering our Workato products, leveraging LLMs and custom ML models.
- Develop an enterprise grade agentic platform, knowledge retrieval services, multi-agent collaboration
- Develop agentic evaluation framework, defining success metrics and criteria, leveraging LLM-as-judge approach
- Working with data scientists and data engineers to define requirements for fine-tunes models and capturing eval datasets
- Develop well-architected, testable, and efficient Python code for production services and experimentations.
- Implement and improve validation, monitoring, and observability for production-grade solutions.
- Drive the full development lifecycle: from ideation and architecture to deployment and continuous improvement.
- Identify and resolve bottlenecks, bugs, and technical challenges in a fast-paced, iterative environment.
- Conduct code reviews and mentor team members to uphold high engineering standards.

Requirements
Qualifications / Experience / Technical Skills
- Bachelor´s or Master´s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Science or equivalent industry experience.
- 5+ years of experience as a Software Engineer, Data Scientist, or similar role.
- Strong Python programming skills and hands-on experience with NLP and LLM models.
- Proven track record of deploying and maintaining AI services in production environments.
- Experience with open-source agentic frameworks (e.g., LangGraph, Google ADK) and vector databases.
- Knowledge of agentic architectures and multi-agent systems; experience building chat-based agents or copilots.
- Experience with relational and non-relational databases.

Preferred skills
- Familiarity with observability best-practices
- LLMops/MLops experience
- Experience building or supporting developer platforms
- Solid understanding of network protocols, API design, distributed architecture

Responsibilities

As a Developer in Data, you will play a key role in building and evolving Workato´s billing/usage platform, the core system responsible for tracking usage, calculating charges, and ensuring accurate and transparent data for all our customers.

You will work closely with Data engineering, Infrastructure, Product, Finance, and Analytics teams to design and implement scalable data pipelines and services that power billing insights and financial reporting across the company.

Our billing platform relies on modern data technologies such as ClickHouse, Apache Flink, Kafka, Java microservices, and AWS powered managed infrastructure.

We are now entering the next stage of evolution, focused on:
- Improving accuracy and reliability of billing and usage data.
- Reducing latency between event emission and charge calculation.
- Increasing transparency and auditability of billing processes.
- Supporting new product metrics and dynamic pricing models.

You´ll help design and implement these changes, working in a highly collaborative and data-driven environment.
- Design, implement, and maintain data pipelines and streaming jobs for billing and usage processing using Flink and Java.
- Develop aggregation and reconciliation logic in ClickHouse, ensuring accuracy and consistency across billions of records.
- Build high-performance APIs and services for consumption by internal teams.
- Ensure data quality, integrity, and compliance with SLAs and financial reporting standards.
- Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to define, evolve, and document billing data models and processing logic.

Requirements
Qualifications / Experience / Technical Skills
- 5+ years of experience in development of data-intensive backend systems.
- Strong proficiency in Java (core language for streaming and backend processing).
- Solid experience with ClickHouse (data modeling, query optimization, performance tuning).
- Experience with Apache Kafka.
- Hands-on experience with streaming frameworks like Apache Flink, Kafka Streams, Kafka Connect.
- Strong SQL skills applied to OLAP use cases including building complex aggregations, optimizing queries and data layouts for performance.
- Good communication skills and experience collaborating in distributed international teams.
- Advanced English level.
