We are seeking an experienced and highly capable Butler to oversee the daily operations of a private residence in Austria for a well-established entrepreneurial family. This is a long-term role for a trusted professional who will bring structure, calm and consistency to a demanding household while supporting the Principal's work-life balance. The household operates at a high standard yet values discretion, professionalism and a composed, intuitive approach to service.

Salary: 50k € - 70k € Based on Experience

Application Requirements: Proven experience working as a Butler or senior household professional within a private household. Strong English language skills required. Candidates must hold a butler training certificate.
Benefits: Full medical insurance and pension insurance covered. A car is provided for professional use. When accompanying the Principal, all travel-related expenses are covered, including private jet flights, accommodation and meals. This role offers long-term stability, a high level of trust and independence and the opportunity to work across several European residences within a professional and respectful environment.
Key Responsibilities
You will be responsible for the smooth day-to-day running of the Principal's residence, ensuring the household operates efficiently and to a consistently high standard. This includes establishing and maintaining household systems, coordinating and supervising household staff and external contractors and working closely with the Chef. Acting as the main point of contact within the household, you will liaise with the Personal Assistant and handle light PA duties, such as managing personal appointments and daily scheduling.
The role is strongly focused on traditional butler service and guest hosting, with responsibility for formal and informal table service, correct etiquette and white-glove standards where required. You will collaborate with the Chef on menu planning and take the lead on special occasions, private celebrations, and relaxed social gatherings.
You will oversee wardrobe, laundry, and valeting, with strong knowledge of fine fabrics and garment care, including ironing, steaming, coordinating dry-cleaning, packing and unpacking for travel and maintaining wardrobe and shoe inventories. Driving duties include airport transfers, local and long-distance journeys and general errands, as well as overseeing vehicle maintenance and fleet care when a Driver is not present.
Household operations also include stock and inventory management, covering personal items, wine cellar, cigars and household supplies. You will manage mail, errands, shopping, maintenance appointments, deliveries, and operate AV systems and household technology. Light hands-on cleaning may be required when necessary.
You will manage household budgets and expense tracking, preparing monthly overviews as required. A strong understanding of etiquette, protocol, hygiene and quality control is essential. Above all, you will act as a trusted and discreet right hand to the Principal, providing calm, reliable support at all times.
Additional Information
The Principal travels frequently for business and private purposes and owns multiple European properties. Flexibility is therefore essential, as the Butler is expected to accompany the Principal when required.
