As Marketing Assistant for Portugal, you will be responsible for making sure that the organisation achieves its commercial objectives of maximising occupancy and revenue for assets in Portugal through the execution of the Marketing Plans agreed to and approved by the company. Responsibilities include set up and day-to-day marketing activities, and taking guidance and instruction from the Marketing Manager and Director of Marketing, showing initiative to research and ensure each activity is targeted, effective and strategic.

This role is pivotal to the success of our business in Portugal, covering marketing across current and new buildings and cities in Portugal, trade show and fairs coordination, copywriting & translations, adaptation of digital and offline advertising materials to the needs of the Portuguese market, assisting with the customer experience programme -namely Community Life-, purchasing, keeping records of orders, and assisting the Marketing Manager wherever required.

This role will work with Madrid head office team and the local team in each destination to produce an effective sales and marketing strategy, drive new initiatives, and reach occupancy targets.

You will be detail-orientated, an excellent multi-tasker and be confident working independently on projects.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES (include but are not limited to):

• Assist the MM with conducting market research to identify market requirements for current and future products, to include:
• Monitoring and analysing market trends
• Studying competitors' products and services
• Analysing customer behaviour
• Assisting MM with day-to-day marketing tasks, coordinating marketing projects and activities as requested
• Support the distribution of promotional and printed materials in Portugal, in coordination with HQ.
• Scoping and implementing in-house & external marketing campaigns alongside the MM
• Generate Purchase Orders and manage the invoicing system as appropriate, under the supervision of the MM.
• Support the production of show room photo shoots and video content in Portugal, including the styling of show flats when appropriate.
• Sourcing new local advertising and marketing opportunities in the Portuguese market
• Assist the extended Marketing Team with Paid Search and Social ad campaigns along with supporting content for SEO.
• Onboard and update all listings/third parties in collaboration with the Marketing Manager
• Support the residence team with their day-to-day marketing needs, including event preparation, managing collateral, and helping with the social media.
• Working with the MM on brand social media strategies and implementation for Portugal
• Composing email copy for marketing campaigns in liaison with the team
• Be responsible for read-proof, translation, or generation of Portuguese marketing content across channels; the ultimate goal is ensuring the content is fully adapted to the Portuguese market.
• Support the planning and coordination of marketing requirements for:
• Student housing fairs
• Residence open days
• And new launch opening functions (where required)

SKILLS & PERSONAL QUALITIES

• Business or marketing-related degree or equivalent professional qualification
• Fluent in Portuguese, English and Spanish
• Knowledge of CMS (i.e. Wordpress, Prismic), CRM (i.e. Zoho, Hubspot), and Google Analytics desirable
• Proficient in the use of visual tools and business software (i.e. MS Office, Adobe Suite, AI powered Content Generation tools or programs)
• Sales and marketing experience, preferably within the Student Accommodation & hospitality sector, Living (Flex, BTR, Senior) or Real Estate Management
• A strong understanding of customer and market dynamics in Portugal
• Excels when working in very fast paced and collaborative environment
• Excellent time management and organisation
• Excellent communication skills both verbal and written, and the ability to present ideas creatively
• A strong work ethic and a commitment to get the job done
• Comfortable working with a diverse group of people
• Self-starter, independent, work using own initiative and able to learn new tools quickly

• Ability and willingness to travel to locations in Portugal, Spain and other territories as required
