Scope of the job
- Support business development team with valuation of new products
- Support commercial teams with pricing tools.
- Support portfolio managers with representation of risk factors and hedging strategies
- Optimisation under constraints of physical assets: batteries, hydro, CCGTs, wind, PV…
- Pricing exotic derivatives in imperfect markets.
- Create decision support tools (prototype) with adequate documentation and version control.
- Support short term and trading teams in gas and power price modelling
- Create a network of collaboration with other quant and data scientist teams in Engie GEMS.
Education and professional background:
- Relevant studies such as Financial mathematics, Operations research, Computer science, Statistics and Mathematics, Deep learning and advanced analytics. Or any other study (ie. Engineers) complemented with very strong mathematics education or professional experience.
- Post-doc in energy markets or other with applicability to this job.
- Experience working in energy Markets, or relevant experience with other commodities.
- Supported trading teams in the past
Skills:
- Basic market analysis
- Good presentation skills, for non-quantitative audience. Clear and effective communication both written and verbal; ability to explain and convey messages about complex issues and models.
- Critical thinking to interpret, evaluate, and communicate complex information.
- Good coding skills: Python. Other: R, Julia
Languages:
- Proficiency in English
- High proficiency in Spanish

¿Qué harás en tu nuevo puesto?
- Colaborar con los gerentes de las empresas de movilidad para diseñar proyectos o planes de acción que aborden las necesidades operativas del negocio.
- Desarrollar y gestionar el plan funcional de los proyectos, asegurando que se alineen con los objetivos estratégicos.
- Supervisar múltiples proyectos simultáneamente, garantizando el seguimiento efectivo y el cumplimiento de los plazos.
- Proporcionar formación a los usuarios finales una vez finalizados los proyectos para asegurar una transición efectiva.
- Tener una comprensión práctica (hands-on) de tecnologías clave, incluidas las bases de datos Oracle, el entorno .Net y la infraestructura en la nube de Azure.
- No se requerirá programación directa, pero se espera que comprenda en profundidad las tecnologías para organizar, supervisar y proponer soluciones personalizadas.

Context:
- As part of the Credit Analysts team, we are assessing the creditworthiness of GEM’s counterparts and managing the limits accordingly. The economic environment is also key and needs also to be followed.
Role:
Current portfolio management
- Analysis and follow-up of exposures in terms of counterpart risks evolution, credit lines management, and approval of Front Office’s transactions/contracts
Portfolio counterpart Management
- Client on-boarding
- Development of customer relationship before contract signing: analysis of Front Office’s need, study of the prospect’s profile (financials, business and regulatory environment,…).
- Proposal, negotiation of credit documents and clauses of netting contracts with prospects, in collaboration with the legal department
- Present recommendation to Credit Risk Management and to Committees.
Project Finance (mainly PPA transactions)
- Assess project creditworthiness (for both development and production phases) and negotiating contracts for long term (10y+) power offtake of PV or wind power production // long term offtake of Biomass plant production;
Digitalisation
- Together with Credit Reporting team and IT support work on development of existing and introduction of new IT tools facilitating credit risk management
Contribute to the team duty tasks
- Daily report production and answer to urgent business interests (check impact of deal interest on current exposure, and give authorization or not to trade)
Education and professional background:
- Master's degree
- Minimum of 3 years' experience in a credit risk position
- Good level of Excel functions: ability to audit Excel models
- Expertise in Financial Analysis, with strong analytical skills and experience in Project Finance
Languages:
- Fluent in English: written & oral
- Spanish: written & oral
