Job Title: Senior AI Test Automation Engineer

Employment: Full-time

Location: Marbella

At Hero Gaming, we are looking for a talented and hands-on Senior AI Test Automation Engineer to help transform how we develop, test and release software.

We want to move beyond traditional test automation and build an intelligent, AI-driven testing platform that can autonomously explore applications, generate and maintain tests, identify defects and continuously adapt as our products evolve.

This is an opportunity to take full ownership of a new technical initiative, combining strong software engineering skills with the latest developments in large language models (LLMs), AI agents and browser automation.

You will have the freedom to explore new approaches, select appropriate technologies and turn ambitious ideas into reliable, production-ready solutions.

Our goal is simple: reduce repetitive manual testing, detect issues earlier and enable faster, more confident software releases.

Previous hands-on experience in the iGaming industry is mandatory for this position.

What You Will Do

Build Our AI-Driven Testing Platform

· Design, develop and own a scalable AI-powered testing framework from the ground up.

· Develop AI agents capable of exploring applications, generating test scenarios, executing tests and analysing results.

· Implement automated test generation and maintenance based on requirements, code changes and application behaviour.

· Build reliable automated testing across APIs, integrations, web interfaces and complete player journeys.

· Combine AI-driven exploration with deterministic assertions to ensure accurate, reproducible results.

· Develop automated testing for critical iGaming functionality, including registration, KYC, deposits, withdrawals, bonuses, gameplay and wallet transactions.

Introduce Intelligent Automation

· Use LLMs and AI coding tools such as Claude, GPT and GitHub Copilot to accelerate development and automate testing workflows.

· Develop AI-assisted visual testing to detect UI defects, layout inconsistencies and unexpected changes across browsers and devices.

· Create intelligent workflows for analysing failures, identifying potential root causes and distinguishing genuine defects from unstable tests.

· Explore self-healing test automation while maintaining safeguards against masking genuine defects.

· Connect AI agents with development tools, repositories, APIs and browser automation frameworks.

· Automate validation of integrations with game providers, payment systems and other third-party iGaming services.

Integrate with Our Development Process

· Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines, including continuous regression testing and release validation.

· Build automated quality gates and actionable feedback mechanisms for developers.

· Work closely with developers and product owners to understand requirements and define meaningful test coverage.

· Build dashboards and reporting tools to provide visibility into testing effectiveness, execution times and software quality.

· Continuously identify opportunities to improve engineering productivity through AI and automation.

Take Ownership and Drive Innovation

· Own the technical architecture, implementation and ongoing evolution of the platform.

· Evaluate new AI models, frameworks and technologies based on their practical value.

· Establish engineering standards for reliable, maintainable and cost-effective AI automation.

· Document solutions and enable other engineers to contribute to and benefit from the platform.

· Turn prototypes into reliable tools used in everyday development.

· Drive continuous improvements toward increasingly autonomous testing with minimal human intervention.

Who We Are Looking For

We are looking for a strong software engineer with proven iGaming experience who enjoys building systems, solving complex problems and experimenting with emerging technologies.

You should be comfortable taking an idea from concept to production, making independent technical decisions and delivering working solutions.

We value practical engineering ability, technical curiosity and a strong sense of ownership.

Required Experience

· Proven hands-on experience in the iGaming industry is mandatory, preferably within online casino or sportsbook platforms.

· Strong understanding of iGaming player journeys, including registration, KYC, deposits, withdrawals, bonuses, gameplay and wallet transactions.

· Familiarity with iGaming platform architecture, third-party integrations, payment providers and game providers.

· Strong software engineering background with excellent programming skills, preferably in TypeScript, JavaScript or Python.

· Proven experience designing and implementing automation frameworks or complex developer tools.

· Practical experience using LLMs and AI-assisted development tools.

· Hands-on experience with browser automation technologies such as Playwright, Cypress or Selenium.

· Good understanding of APIs, integration testing, end-to-end testing and modern web applications.

· Experience working with CI/CD pipelines and software development workflows.

· Ability to design maintainable solutions and troubleshoot complex technical issues.

· Strong problem-solving skills, an independent working style and good communication skills in English.

Strong Advantages

· Experience developing AI agents or autonomous workflows using LLM APIs.

· Experience with tool calling, structured outputs, prompt engineering and context management.

· Familiarity with AI-powered browser automation, visual testing or automated defect detection.

· Experience integrating AI systems with development environments, repositories and APIs.

· Experience evaluating AI-generated results for reliability, accuracy and cost.

· Experience with distributed applications, microservices or complex transactional systems.

· Experience building or maintaining automation for casino platforms, game aggregators, payment integrations or player account management systems.

· Knowledge of regulatory requirements and compliance testing within the iGaming industry.
